Position Purpose:
The Cook is responsible for the preparation of quality foods for patients, cafeteria and catering service. Functions in a leadership role, monitoring performance and quality of assigned staff.
What you will do:
Cooks' food for meal service.Operates and maintains departmental equipment and efficient manner.Maintains assigned department areas in a clean, neat and sanitary manner.(Lead) – As Relief Working Leader, monitors and guides food service staff in the execution of their tasks to provide quality service in the absence of Dietary Supervisor.Demonstrates efficient, cost-effective use of Dietary equipment and supplies, as observed by the Supervisor.Contributes to the philosophy of quality care and human dignity at the hospital.Contributes to the effective operation of the hospital by demonstrating dependability in job performance.Minimum Qualifications:
High school diploma or graduation from a school specializing in hotel or institutional cooking.
Serv-Safe Certified.
At least two-years of institutional or restaurant food preparation as a cook, preferably in a hospital setting. At least one-year Leadership/Supervisory experience.
Must be organized, efficient, function well under stress.
Working Conditions:
Moderate amount of stooping and bending in the preparation of patient and cafeteria meals. Flexibility to pull pots and pans down from shelves; lifting food and supplies up to 50 pounds from refrigerator and in transporting bulk food from one place to another. Extended periods of standing or walking are required. Ability to lift approximately 50 lbs.Position Highlights and Benefits
