As a Cook/Baker, you will cook and prepare a variety of food for patients, caregivers, special events and visitors. **A caregiver in this position works, day/evening/night/weekend, 10:00am - 6:30pm.** A caregiver who excels in this role will: + Review menu and special orders to determine types and quantities of food items to be prepared. + Follow standardized recipes in preparation of all foods. + Plan cooking schedule with supervisor and/or dietitian to ensure food will be ready at specified times. + Confer with dietitians regarding modified diet preparation and use of leftovers. + Adhere to HACCP guidelines in the storage, handling, and preparation of food and in the sanitation and maintenance of work area. Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include: + High school diploma or GED. + Two years prior cooking experience in a variety of menu items. + Knowledge of proper food handling, preparation and storage. Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include: + Successful completion of a formal training program for cooks or 3 or more years related experience. + Successful completion of a culinary certification program.
