THE JOB:

As a Block 16 Cook at The Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas, you will be responsible for setting the stage for an excellent guest experience by using your culinary techniques. You’ll provide high-quality food to guests from all over the world. In your role, you will partner with front-of-house staff to create WOW memories the guests will carry with them far and beyond their stay with us.

THE STARTING RATE: $27.7826

THE DAY-TO-DAY:

Maintain solid knowledge of food products and skillfully apply culinary techniques

Identify and safely use kitchen equipment

Restock kitchen supplies and food items required for service

Properly label and date products to ensure safekeeping and sanitation

Maintain solid menu knowledge and attention to detail with plate presentation

Assist kitchen leadership and staff in execution of service

Maintain solid knowledge, understanding and preparation of base sauces, stocks and soups

Work as a team to assist all guests needs and inquiries

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE:

At least one year cook experience in high-volume, fast-paced kitchen environment

Is comfortable in a restaurant kitchen and with the use of culinary tools, equipment, and various cooking techniques

Takes pride in their work, provides a safe environment, and maintains health standards

Knowledge of health, safety and sanitation regulations

Describes themselves as detail-oriented

Looks forward to working with a team to provide positive experiences

Enjoys helping others and likes to make a good impression

Can handle multiple tasks at one time

Experience working in a similar resort setting

Ability to work varied shifts, including weekends and holidays
