Fishers Event Center has an excellent and immediate opening for a part-time Cook I. This position is responsible for preparing food items for all suite orders, catering functions and concession items.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Prepare recipes as directed; measure ingredients and prepare them in accordance with Chef’s specifications.
Wash and peel ingredients in order for them to be used in different meals.
Cut and portion different types of meat according to specifications.
Prepare different types of food, carefully following the recipes.
Accept or reject ingredients from food suppliers based on their appearance and quality.
Keep track of ingredient quantities and ensure there are always enough for the day/week/event.
Store ingredients in dedicated containers, making sure that they are best preserved.
Clean and sanitize the working surfaces, tools, utensils and working area
Carefully direct the food temperature and the temperature from cooling rooms to ensure that the ingredients kept are kept at the appropriate temperature.
Must take direction well.
Maintain safe working conditions and sanitary work area.
Follow the rules and regulations of SAVOR and ASM Global.
Regular attendance is an essential job function.

Must have attention to detail
Must be able to adapt to change in the work environment, managing, competing demands, frequent changes, delays, or unexpected events.
Must be compliant with health codes.
Requires ability to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays.

Education and/or Experience
High school diploma or GED preferred.
One-year certificate from culinary school or comparable experience.
Servsafe certified (recommended not required)
Skills and Abilities
Ability to read and interpret recipes and prep list.
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals.
Basic knife skills

Pay Rate $17 - $22/hr
