Responsibilities
Job Summary
Leads the preparation of food for patients, staff, and visitors of the healthcare facility following safe cooking techniques. Assists in the oversight of staff to ensure that all processes and procedures are being followed. Prepares food for multiple therapeutic diets and complies with state and federal laws and regulations related to food preparation in a healthcare environment. Supports quality control measures such as recipe adherence and food quality consistency.
Job Responsibility 1
Prepares and serves food within guidelines of menu and dietary requirements, using required kitchen utensils and equipment such as slicers, mixers, ovens, stove tops, steamers, fryers etc. and grills. Modifies preparations to account for food allergies.
Job Responsibility 2
Champions food quality standards of appearance, taste, temperature and sanitation.
Job Responsibility 3
Performs washing and cleaning duties to ensure sanitation and cleanliness in cooking and serving areas.
Job Responsibility 4
Maintains proper labeling of food products and ensures storage of food equipment, and machinery per regulations and facility guidelines.
Qualifications
Experience
Four (4) years of experience in food services; two (2) years hospital nutrition experience.
Education
High School Diploma, GED or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Licensure
Current (within the past 12 month) ServSafe® Allergen and Food Handler Certifications. If not currently certified, certification to be obtained within 30 days of hire.
