Ensure Meals will meet required nutritional values of the four food groups.
Order required food and supplies to ensure meals are prepared as scheduled.
Put away food delivery.
Track expiration dates of food items.
Ensure kitchen area is well maintained and clean.
Practice sanitary methods of food handling and storage.
Ensure that all eating and cooking utensils are clean and properly stored.
Participate with students and staff in development of grocery list and menu.
Post weekly menus with Director’s approval.
Ensure alternatives foods are available for students with food allergies.
Available for weekly meetings relating to food, menus, and food preparation.
Attend and participate in events planned by school as requested.
Provide and post information regarding importance of proper nutrition, sanitary methods, and food groups.
Participate and help with student and staff involvement in food preparation and clean up.
Maintain dress code as assigned.
Perform all other assigned duties.
Promote and support the environment of positive behavior support.
Promote pro-social behaviors and interactions between students and staff.
Attend in-service training sessions, staff meetings and seminars as needed.
Serve as a role model for students, maintaining values such as integrity, respect for self and all others, dignity, self-control, and respect.
Qualifications
New York State Driver’s License
High School Diploma and experience in food service.
Must be able to read and write English.
Acceptable clearance checks for State Central Register, Driver license and fingerprinting as required by the program.
Attending SCIP class for certification/re-certification and passing a test upon completion of course is a minimum requirement for employment.
