Check out this video for more information on our great company! Location Description Edith Macy Center is a conference center located in Briarcliff Manor, New York, 45 minutes from Manhattan. Edith Macy Center has more than 14,000 square feet of indoor conference space, 58 sleeping rooms, and we are situated among 405 wooded acres in the heart of Westchester County. Overview We are looking for someone passionate about the culinary arts to join our Culinary team. This individual must be creative, motivated, and passionate about growing their talents in the kitchen! Our Banquet Cook position is part-time for the 2pm-10pm shift. Hourly pay is $21.00-25.00 DOE.  Essential Duties and Responsibilities:   Preparation of high quality food items according to standardized recipes or instructions in an efficient manner in order to meet production, delivery and service schedules.  You will develop your knowledge and skills in various cooking procedures and methods (grill, sauté and fry) Serve meals or prepare for delivery at times, using correct portioning, meeting outlined standards and ensuring that food is at the correct temperature and is attractive and tasty. Tastes all food items prepared.   You will prepare ingredients to use in cooking (chopping and peeling vegetables, cutting meat) You will keep a sanitized and orderly environment in the kitchen You will ensure all food and other items are stored properly You will be responsible for the quality of ingredients Clean kitchen after preparation and serving, maintaining high standards of cleanliness and storing or discarding excess food properly per safe food handling procedures  You will be consistent on all food preparation Keep refrigerators and storerooms clean and neat.  All food and supply items are to be stored per standards.  Operate and maintain kitchen equipment as instructed.  Assist in production planning, record keeping and reporting as required.   Report needed maintenance, faulty equipment, or accidents to the supervisor immediately.  Attend in-service and/or safety meetings as required.  Work effectively and maintain good working relationships with co-workers, customers, administrators, and Managers.  Perform other functions and duties as assigned.  Qualifications High School Diploma or GED equivalent preferred; or 6 months to 1 year related experience or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience Minimum 2 years cooking experience in a hospitality setting Serv Safe certification or the ability to get it Must be willing to work a variety of night and weekend shifts Requires strong organizational skills Must be able to work independently Able to be on your feet for long periods of time Able to lift at least 50 pounds An energetic personality EOE Compensation Range The compensation for this position is $20.00/Hr. - $25.00/Hr. based on qualifications and experience.
