DEPARTMENT: Dietary
POSITION: Cook Supervisor (6:30 a.m. - 2:30 p.m.)
SUPERVISOR: Director of Dining Services and/or Manger of Dining Ser-vices, RD
HOURLY RATE: $20.00-$21.00 per hour commensurate with experience.
Duties:
Oversee all kitchen production, responsible for the oversite of all other cooks, and dietary staff.
Cook Supervisor shall be responsible for all breakfast and dinner meal preparation of cooked items including desserts for dinner.
Responsible for all baking done in kitchen.
Participates with Director Dining Services or RD regarding menu selection.
Responsible for apportioning of foods for breakfast meals to all dining rooms in correct quantities.
Responsible for placing of all leftover, cooked, perishable foods from breakfast meals into proper storage, and dating and labeling of each item.
Follows prepared menu and provides correct consistency foods to all dining rooms.
Responsible for taking samples of each meal item from breakfast and dinner, dating, labeling, and storing same.
Follows sanitation codes, policies including proper glove use, hair restraint and uniform.
May lift supplies and equipment up to 50 lbs.
Responsible for the supervision of the Dietary Department in the absence of the Director of Dining Services, Manager of Dining Services, and/or RD.
Performs duties according to the highest ethical and moral standards and in adherence with the facility's corporate compliance plan and all applicable governing laws. Adheres to the facility's confidentiality statement in accessing safeguarding protected health information (PHI) of residents and employees, as necessary to perform job duties.
Performs any other duties assigned by the Director of Dining Services or the Manager of Dining Services, RD.

Qualifications:
Ability to read and write.
Able to follow written and oral directions.
Able to endure up to four (4) hours of standing/walking.
Have knowledge of preparing foods so as to preserve nutrients and to prepare foods appealing in appearance and palatable.
