Cooling Tower Technician

System One is currently seeking experienced cooling tower field personnel for the construction and rebuilding of field-erected and factory-assembled cooling towers throughout the state of Texas.

Job description:
The job consists of construction work which is basically the assembly of a new Cooling Tower or the repair of an existing Cooling Tower. This requires rough carpentry skills and the use of the following tools: saws, drills, power tools, hammers, and screwdrivers. The job also entails fabricating of materials as well as working with mechanicals. Some of the tasks would include unloading materials, framing the structure and building the walls, installing fill, placing fan stacks, and building stairways.

Basic knowledge of construction safety guidelines (OSHA 10HR and preferred OSHA 30HR) Working at elevated heights. Working hours 40-70 hours per week and must be flexible to work weekend and holidays Must be able to lift 50 pounds throughout workday. Must be able to pass drug screen, have transportation, and have a valid driver’s license. Pay Scale based upon years of experience and capability. Physical Demands Sitting: remaining in a seated position Standing: remaining on one’s feet in an upright position at a workstation without moving about Walking: moving about on foot Lifting: raising or lowering an object from one level to another (includes upward pulling) Carrying: transporting an object, usually holding it in the hands or arms or on the shoulder Bending/Stooping: bending the body downward and forward by bending the spine at the waist; occurs to a considerable degree and requires full use of the lower extremities and back muscles Pushing: exerting force upon an object so that the object moves toward the force (includes jerking) Twisting: rotating; moving to face an alternate direction Climbing: ascending or descending ladders, stairs, scaffolding, ramps, poles, ropes and the like, using the feet, legs, and/or arms and hands Balancing: maintaining body equilibrium to prevent falling when walking, standing, crouching, or running on narrow, slippery, or erratically moving surfaces; or maintaining body equilibrium when performing gymnastic feats Crouching: bending the body downward and forward by bending the legs and spine Kneeling: bending the legs at the knees to come to rest on the knee or knees Reaching: extending the hands and arms in any direction Handling: seizing, holding, grasping, turning, or walking with hands Apply now for immediate consideration.  Projects starting up in next 2 weeks.
