AHA is a full-service Mechanical/Electrical/Plumbing (MEP) consulting engineering firm, knowledgeable in the latest regulatory requirements and building codes. For over 25 years, we’ve been providing engineering assessments, design drawings, bid documents and construction administration for a wide variety of projects from existing building renovations to complete laboratories. The coop/intern will work with the Energy & Sustainability Team to provide support for projects. This position will be responsible for helping with the sustainable design of new mechanical systems, and modifications to existing infrastructure systems within a facility for a diverse array of project types ranging from corporate, industrial, and academic, to multifamily, mission critical, and laboratories. Responsibilities + Assist with LEED documentation + Assist with Energy Star Portfolio Manager data gathering and verification + Evaluate code compliance and research industry standards for engineering guidelines + Prepare materials for presentations for client meetings + Assist with site visits for MEP systems + Provide assistance, as needed or directed, to deliver an on-schedule quality product + Handle multiple projects with efficiency and accuracy + Receive and follow through with specific or technical instructions + Participate and contribute to a team effort, exchanging ideas and recommending improvements + Demonstrate adequate verbal and written communication skills + Attend client meetings as necessary Required Skills + Currently enrolled in a degree granting program in Mechanical, or related Engineering, Architectural Studies, Construction Technology, or related discipline + Interest in energy and sustainability + Coursework in environmental sciences, energy/sustainability, HVAC, or related a plus + LEED experience preferred + MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint software proficiency + SolidWorks Simulation, Revit and AutoCAD a plus + Ability to work in a small, collaborative team independently + Excellent written and oral communication skills + Strong initiative and problem-solving abilities + Outstanding attention to detail + Time management skills, with the ability to handle various responsibilities while meeting strict deadlines. Location and Possible hybrid role for approximately 32 hours/week. Intern must be available to work on site in the Burlington or Boston office three days/week.
