To learn more visit https://www.doctorshosplaredo.com JOB SUMMARY: Assists Manager in the management of all hospital activities related to the Infection Prevention and Control Porgram, including educational program development, consultation to departments of matters of infection control, and ensures ongoing organizational compliance with regulatory agency protocols. Serves as Employee Health/Infection Prevention Nurse with employees and students processed through the department as well as assisting with aggregating data for Infection Control. Demonstrate excellent Service Excellence skills at all times. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: Serves as a resource/backup when manager to the department is not available Performs new employee physicals Administers immunization as needed Aggregates date for infection Control reports Interacts with physicians, nurses, department managers, supervisors, and occupational health and other professional/non-professional staff members to provide resource information, resolve infection control problems, and identify new opportunities to improve service and reduce costs. Assists Manager in preparing reports and statistical data for the infection control committee, corporate director, medical staff committees, medical executive committee and the facility's administration and other committees as needed. Coordinates the infection prevention and control program throughout the facility. Assists Manager with rounds in all hospital departments to discuss, monitor and follow the infection control practices with staff personnel. Implements educational programs to provide staff with knowledge and skills regarding infection control practices and preventive measures to provide a safe environment for clients and employees. Monitors the implementation of preventive measures, provides guidance to staff and counsels them as per the need Participates and assists in the organization of regularly scheduled hospital Infection Control Committee meetings. Prepares monthly statistical data for presentation in the hospital infection control meetings. Reports hospital infection outbreaks to the Manager of the department, of infection control committee and Director of Nursing. Works closely with Manager to ensure the staff is free from infectious diseases. 13. Will perform other duties as assigned, in all areas of the department. Qualifications MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: A minimum of a two (2) year Associate degree in Nursing required. A four (4) year baccalaureate degree in Nursing is preferred.
