Key Responsibilities:

PURPOSE OF THE POSITION  

 

Ensure the design and implementation of operational plans to strengthen organizational and community preparedness capacities for emergency response in attended territories and nationwide. 

 

Main Responsibilities 

 

Coordinate disaster response under a Child-Centered Transformative Development approach: Train and advise the National Disaster Management Team (NDMT) of the National Office in the implementation of HEA standards, Emergency Management System, Preparedness and Response Plans based on risk/scenario analyses of potential events. 

Ensure the programmatic and financial implementation of the Risk Management Results of the Technical Program and complementary projects, ensuring impact. 

Participate in coordination spaces with other areas: contributing to the construction of project proposals, coordinating workspaces. 

Ensure compliance with accountability and safeguarding protocols. 

Ensure compliance with the comprehensive personnel management process. 

 

Education 

 

Environmental Engineering, Administration, Engineering, or related fields. 

Specialized training and certifications in risk reduction, climate change, disaster preparedness, disaster response, humanitarian standards from nationally and internationally recognized entities. 

 

Knowledge and Skills 

 

Physical and mental conditions for managing emotional impact in disasters, self-care. 

Advanced English proficiency. 

Proven skills as a ToT instructor, to train multidisciplinary teams. 

Proficiency in computer packages in a Windows environment. 

Ability to work with multidisciplinary teams. 

Financial Project Management. 

Basic knowledge of food security, livelihoods and agriculture, disaster risk management. 

Ability to transmit knowledge and facilitate training. 

Interpersonal and multidisciplinary relationships. 

Results-oriented. 

Coordination and collaboration skills. 

Negotiation and conflict resolution techniques. 

Writing, analysis, and synthesis skills. 

Driving license Category 1, 2, and 3. 

 

Experience 

Proven minimum experience of 3 to 5 years in similar jobs. 

Proven experience in similar positions, leading emergencies in the INGOs environment in the last 5 years. 

Experience leading multidisciplinary work teams in emergency contexts. 

Experience in managing and establishing Emergency Operations Centers, based on: SCI (Incident Command System), MACOE (Emergency Operations Center Management), Contingency Plans. 

Experience in designing multisectoral plans/proposals for disaster response. 

Experience in implementing capacity-building projects in disaster preparedness at institutional and community levels.
