Coordinator, Contract Services
Job Description: This position executes contract and insurance activity with external entities to the University. Serves as an expert resource to internal customers. Partners closely with Legal Affairs and Risk Management to ensure that University contracts comply with university policies, procedures, state and federal law, and ensure the university is protected. Job Responsibilities Include: + Independently review and execute contracts to include recommendations on business terms, defined legal terms, independent contractor insurance status, and terms negotiation with suppliers and contractors. Works closely with Procurement to ensure that policy and processes are in sync with contract review requirements. Partners with Legal Affairs on non-standard terms and conditions, as well as complex agreements or purchases. Effectively communicates with peers, division, university customers, and external entities. Primary driver in the creation and maintenance of the contracts database to ensure compliance and enhance risk mitigation. + Demonstrate knowledge with respect to legal concepts, risk mitigation, policies and procedures on contracts and risk insurance processes to include maintenance of process documentation, decision matrices, and contract management development. Recommends and implements streamlined processes, university partnership opportunities, and strong control related concepts related to execution and retention of related documents. + Serves as an expert and quasi legal consultative nature to colleges and business units in the execution of contracts for goods and services. Works with manager and units to streamline contract business processes to achieve cost compliance and efficiencies. Develops strategies to assist the customer in carrying out their core functions. Maintains a culture of collaboration with peers, customers, and suppliers. Partners with units to provide negotiation assistance as needed. Positively influences as a catalyst of change. + Acts as the Contracts Manager in that individual’s absence. Minimum Qualifications: + Bachelor’s degree in Business or related field + Minimum of 1 year of related work experience *An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
