This full-time 12-month position serves in the division of Student Affairs as part of the Center for Student Engagement, which provides services including orientation and transition programs, leadership development and student activities, fraternity and sorority support, student union building operations, and community and civic engagement. The successful candidate will work collaboratively within and beyond this team to contribute to a vibrant student life program that engages students across campus. In partnership with the Assistant Director of Orientation and Transition Programs, this role will coordinate orientation programs including First-Year Orientation, Transfer Orientation, and Parent & Family Orientation and explore additional opportunities to support parent and family engagement Duties of the role include but are not limited to:• Coordinate Commuter Student Orientation programs and Transfer Orientation programs• Print and manage Argos reports of each Orientation session, run lists for CSE staff and other campus partners• Assist the Assistant Director of Orientation and Transition Programs with the coordination and execution of Orientation banquets/celebrations• Oversee weekly outreach to new students and targeted event publicity (Keeping You Posted)• Facilitate programs to support new first-year, transfer, and commuter students• Recruit, hire, train, and supervise the Welcome/Engagement Ambassadors who work Welcome Week Events• Advise/supervise Orientation Leaders with the planning and execution of Programs and activities that would occur the first six weeks of the fall semester and Transfer Liaisons• Assist in the consultation, review, and approval of student club events• Assist in the management of the student engagement/student organizations and clubs platform• Work will include nights and weekends in the form of rotational office coverage and assigned programming; flexibility of scheduled hours to support departmental programs expected• Serve on the Student Affairs committees and working groups Qualifications: Required:• Bachelor’s degree in related field• Experience working in a university setting• Student and/or professional experience with knowledge in student activities, event planning, orientation, facilities operations, hospitality management, or college student personnel• Excellent administrative, communication, and interpersonal skills• Ability to work well in a diverse setting that includes students, parents/families, faculty, and staff• Ability to conceptualize, organize, and coordinate programs• Experience in collecting, compiling, analyzing, and evaluating data Preferred:• Experience with Anthology Engage software platform• Experience using a web-based software platform to initiate, track, and record work, trainings, and orientation sessions• Ability to work within a dynamic environment and a proven competence in managing multiple tasks and competing priorities• Proven commitment to and appreciation for issues of diversity and community. Ability to articulate issues and trends in higher education.• Experience designing and conducting assessment activities. Excellent written and oral communication skills.
