The Role
Building on recent successes with water programming in Uganda, Evidence Action is now looking to pilot a new program in Uganda from our Accelerator: Reading Glasses for Adults. The goal of this pilot is to learn how to distribute reading glasses to target populations in the most efficient and cost effective manner. This pilot will have two different distribution models that we will be learning from: (1) distributing reading glasses through Village Health Teams (VHTs) and (2) distributing reading glasses through Evidence Action’s existing chlorine distribution activities.
This pilot aims to improve vision services in the community by increasing access to reading glasses. The Reading Glasses Pilot Coordinator will manage the Reading Glasses pilot activities in the program area, working closely with the Program manager while leading the implementation team to achieve the pilot goals.
Reporting to the Program Manager, the Coordinator position is a key field management role for the Reading Glasses pilot.
