Overview:
Walt Disney Studios Canada (WDSC) is a Toronto-based marketing group as part of The Walt Disney Company Canada Ltd. This opportunity will involve establishing a heightened marketing and brand presence and help to execute publicity and promotion strategies for theatrical and streaming releases for the Disney brands Disney Animation, Disney Live-Action, and Pixar Studio titles within Canada, while collaborating effectively with U.S. based functional groups.

Responsibilities:
Provide support and execute the publicity and promotions strategy for all Disney theatrical and streaming releases in Canada
Provide support and execute strategic media outreach/targeted pitches for all theatrical and streaming releases, including press days (in-person and virtual), long-lead coverage, first-look opportunities, trailer premieres etc.
Assisting with press/influencer travel coordination, virtual junkets, set visits, Canadian PA tours, and other press events including, but not limited to, film festivals, events and conventions
Provide support on securing media partners, new and creative 3rd party outreach, partnerships, and building screening programs across Canada
Build & maintain strong relationships with national and local media (broadcast, print, digital, radio, bloggers) to generate optimal coverage of our titles, both theatrical and streaming
Assist with the managing of press lists and communication
Execute press releases to support the premieres of trailers, creative, XM initiatives and other content
Support the WDSC social media channels with publicity initiatives
Attend & help coordinate press and promotional screenings as well as other key events
Create and manage online ticketing programs for promotional screenings
Creation of top line reports for each priority title
Build publicity reports & track coverage, including circulation of daily breaks and reviews
Support special marketing projects as directed
Support the Director and Manager with a variety of duties and projects as directed
Requirements:
Minimum 1-2 years of publicity experience/internship within the film or entertainment industry
Good working relationships with the Canadian film & entertainment media (broadcast, print, digital, radio, bloggers)
Demonstrated knowledge and enthusiasm for film, the entertainment industry, the arts and pop culture in general
Excellent organizational skills, detail oriented & superior written abilities a must
Ability to prioritize, multi-task, work under pressure, and meet deadlines with minimal supervision
Creative, resourceful & possessing superior research skills with a demonstrated ability to take initiative & problem solve
Enthusiastic, hard working with excellent interpersonal and communication skills
Experience working with talent and their representatives is a plus
Education:
Completion of a Public Relations degree or equivalent
