Purchasing Coordinator

 

Overview: Perform a wide variety of duties that provide administrative support to the Purchasing team. This position assists the team in their goal of timely procurement of warehouse inventory materials to meet desired availability and service goals, through entering, acknowledging, and expediting purchase orders, freight quotations and coordination, and the reporting and analysis of inventory stocking levels, pricing, and quoting analysis.

 

Description of Duties:

Enter purchase orders into the computer system and print out orders. Follow up and expedite orders to maintain availability and service goals. Ensure all Purchase orders are acknowledged. Notify Buyers of supplier issues so corrective actions can be implemented.

Enter ship dates into the Backlog Report; update expedited information into the Backlog report.

Create Direct Ship POs into the system and perform receipts for direct ship orders.

Maintain accurate inventory counts, and enter Inventory transactions into the ERP system from cycle count adjustments, demos, returned goods, etc. Monitor parts where negative on hands exist and correct deficiencies.

Enter daily inventory reconciliation data and identify issues and discrepancies.

Maintain a log of special vendor quotes for customer inquiries. Keep and maintain Purchasing files, as necessary. Participate in Physical Inventory. Maintain label/placard inventory.

Generate reports, as requested, on Purchase Price variance using ERP information. Maintain Company information for tracking purposes.

Additional tasks - participating in the annual Cost roll update, the ABC Analysis, and organizing and collecting vendor W9 forms.

Knowledge of JD Edwards is a plus but not required.
