Position Summary

Performs Purchasing clerk duties and assists buyer.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

· Verifies nomenclature and specifications of purchase requests

Searches inventory records or warehouse to determine if material on hand is in sufficient quantityConsults catalogs and contacts suppliers to obtain pricing, specifications, and deliverabilityAssures that parts are delivered on schedule, confers with suppliers concerning late deliveriesVerifies cost accuracy of parts or outside processingCoordinates all activities related to procurement of material beginning with intent to purchase through deliveryAnalyzes the requirements of the material, including preliminary specification, preferred supplier and date material is neededInvestigates potential suppliers to determine if they meet the specified requirementsAdvises team members or management on the appropriate supplier to be used

retention of records

· Performs other duties as assigned by buyers and managers

Qualifications

Thorough knowledge of:

ILS and other aircraft vending softwareERP systemMicrosoft office basics- including excel pivot tablesCycle count processes

§ Skill to:

Add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimalsComputer rate, ratio and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphsInterpret and extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variablesRecognize requirements for parts and materials to repair, overhaul or manufacture aircraft itemsLearn industry-related software
