Coordinator, Warehouse - Customer Service

General Function:

Coordinate Distribution Center activities to prepare customer and interplant orders for shipment.  Arrange transport of shipments, per customer requirements, through interaction with transportation providers.

 

Duties and Responsibilities (essential functions)

Interface with Oracle ERP system to prepare products for customer shipments, to include bill of lading, packing list, and invoice documentation. Plan and route customer shipments utilizing a variety of ERP or web-based tools, in coordination with Warehouse Team Members, to insure timely delivery of products. Communicate with transportation service providers to secure and schedule freight pick-ups daily. Interact with Customer web-portal tools to coordinate and schedule freight pick-ups where applicable.  Manage clerical inputs of essential item set-ups, and warehousing set-ups in Oracle ERP system to enable accurate and efficient functionality of the warehouse management module. Maintain contact with the Corporate Transportation Team to insure utilization of approved core carriers for all transportation requirements, both inbound and outbound. Negotiate spot quote rates with transportation service providers as needed. Communicate with Customer Service Department on a regular basis to assure timely release, and fulfillment of sales orders to meet customer demand. Monitor and manage special requests, and prioritization of materials and shipments based upon feedback. Utilize, monitor, and enhance all reporting tools to drive performance levels of the Distribution Center.

Skills, Knowledge and Abilities

Computer skills in Oracle, Excel, Word. Able to communicate verbally and in writing  Self-directed with minimal supervision Able to read, write and keep written records

 

Education; Training 

Must have high school diploma or GED 

 

Work Environment

           Primary work site:      Office setting

           Hours worked:   Normal hours of 40 hrs/wk, 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Work overtime as scheduled
