Coordinator Clinical Risk Management - General Counsel
Location: METROHEALTH MEDICAL CENTER

Biweekly Hours: 80.00

Shift: 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM

Summary:

Works as part of the Litigation & Clinical Risk team and is responsible for carrying out tasks that support the clinical risk management objectives, performance improvement, and legal functions while collaborating with other departments including the Institute of Patient Centered Excellence, Health Information Management, Office of Professional Affairs, Clinical Leadership, and Staff. Supports The MetroHealth System's risk management program by leading the development of comprehensive strategies to identify and mitigate clinical risks, monitoring and guiding the progress of current risk strategies, and strategic action plans, and supporting the efficient and effective management of pending clinical and professional claims. Upholds the mission, vision, values, and customer services standards of The MetroHealth System.

Qualifications:
Required:

Bachelor's degree in health-related science or greater, or any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience in addition to the experience stated below. 3 years of experience in responding to or assessing clinical risk issues through hands-on clinical work, education and training, or law firm experience. Certified Professional in Healthcare Risk Management (CPHRM) certification or obtains within twenty-four months of employment. Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Office programs. Strong writing, communication, and interpersonal skills. Self-directed, organized, and able to accept increasing levels of responsibility. Ability to work independently and with others. Ability to communicate via face-to-face, phone, email, and other communications. Ability to interact effectively with a wide range of cultural, ethnic, racial, and socioeconomic backgrounds.
Preferred:
Combination of 5 or more years of clinical risk management/clinical experience in an acute care setting. Knowledge of integrated risk management systems.
Physical Requirements:
May sit, stand, stoop, bend, and ambulate intermittently during the day. May need to sit or stand for extended periods. See in the normal visual range with or without correction. Hear in the normal audio range with or without correction. Finger dexterity to operate office equipment required. May need to lift up to twenty-five (25) pounds on occasion. Apply
