Coordinator - ComEd Recreational Facility

Job Title:                           Coordinator – Full-Time / Exempt

Reports To:                       Facilities Manager

Summary:  With passion and dedication to excellence, the Addams Park Coordinator will build, establish, and promote the facility by applying proven instruction methods that both inspire and guide each and every student regardless of age, experience, or knowledge of soccer. The coordinator will be responsible for the management of a team of Soccer Instructors including scheduling, supervising, leading, and directing.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Plans and implements course curricula specifically for soccer instruction, including skill development, strategy, and competitive play.

Manages a team of part-time Soccer Instructors, scheduling and supervising their training and performance.

Provides instruction and supervision to participants in soccer, emphasizing skill acquisition and teamwork.

Demonstrates proper soccer techniques, skills, and advanced strategies for both individual and team play.

Adapts soccer programs to accommodate varying levels of participant skill development, from beginners to advanced players.

Offers instruction on the rules of soccer and explains the fundamentals of organized soccer activities.

Enforces and promotes safety guidelines specific to soccer practices and games, resolving conflicts among participants as needed.

Issues and maintains inventory of soccer equipment and supplies, ensuring all gear is safe and functional

Sets up and maintains soccer apparatus and fields, including goals and boundary markers.

Officiates soccer matches, ensuring fair play and promoting sportsmanship among participants.

Communicates effectively with players, parents, volunteers, and community members about soccer programs and events.

Establishes schedules for soccer programming, tournaments, leagues, and competitions, conducting meetings to coordinate events.

Ensures all soccer programs adhere to local, national, and official governing body standards, following applicable laws related to soccer.

Keeps up with industry trends in soccer, developing innovative programming and skill development initiatives.

Creates engaging ways to utilize various indoor and outdoor soccer facilities for practices, games, and events.

Markets current and new soccer programs through social media, emails, flyers, and community outreach.

Attends weekly meetings with the Facility Manager to keep management informed about soccer program needs and participant feedback.

Participates in community outreach by attending local events, such as farmer’s markets or festivals, to promote soccer involvement.

Maintains active membership and participation with industry associations related to soccer and youth sports.

Establishes new revenue streams through soccer camps, party bookings, and community soccer events.

Performs other duties as assigned.

Professional Requirements:

Previous teaching experience in a group setting required.

Ability to teach soccer classes.

Self-motivated, with excellent communication and customer service skills.

Punctual, reliable, organized, and responsible.

Keeps management informed of customer and facility needs.

Ensures that safety standards are met, and that department and facility policies are adhered to.

Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:  The requirements listed are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required. To perform this job successfully an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Must possess current Red Cross CPR certification, Certified Instructor (ACE, AFAA) or equivalent. Additional specialty/certifications preferred. Have working knowledge of human anatomy, kinesiology and training principles. Have working knowledge of group fitness teaching strategies and the incorporation of music, tempo, technique, and rhythm. Ability to be professional and motivate class participants. Ability to cooperate and work well with other staff members.

Other Qualifications:  Ability to work with limited supervision and as a team member.  This position requires the ability to work flexible hours including nights, weekends and holidays.
