Coordinator, Corporate Communications

Reports to:  Senior Director, Corporate Communications (dotted line to Manager, Corporate Communications)

Office Location:  New York Design Office

 

A collaborative member of the Corporate Communications team, supporting day-to-day activities necessary to execute the team’s strategic priorities, while strengthening AEO Inc.’s talent and employer brand through engaging messaging, content and events. Helps to strengthen passion for the company and brands, driving growth and engagement across internal and external stakeholder communities.  Executes the work needed to produce internal events that build connection  and boost AEO’s internal culture. Will play a key role within the New York Design Office as the primary point of contact in developing meaningful relationships with the associate community. Supports various projects and initiatives to meet business objectives, while maintaining AEO Inc. brand standards and identity.

 

Responsibilities

Assist in editorial creation, writing, editing, and publishing of content in a variety of internal and external communication channels that support both the department’s strategies and the communication strategies of partners across the company. Source storytelling opportunities with internal partners and lead the work to completion. Track and analyze internal communications metrics. Monitor and route inbound communications requests. Coordinate business partner approvals, gather details, fact check, etc. to ensure clear and accurate communications. Support internal event coordination from concept to execution, helping to create synergy and connection between campuses and associate populations. Manage project timeline and logistics; develop and maintain collaborative relationships with internal partners and external vendors; manage event budget and expenses; produce executive event briefings; and send calendar invites and track event registration. Create and produce engaging multimedia content for use on internal and external social channels with a goal to capture attention quickly and effectively through visuals, sound/music and concise messaging. Provide operational support for the team, including but not limited to: maintaining workload planning and company-wide meeting and events calendars; ongoing copy updates to intranet and corporate website; media monitoring; assist in department budgeting, processing expenses and purchase orders; benchmarking; maintaining and organizing files, message/photo library and corporate boilerplate copy; and ensuring department guidelines and SOPs are up to date. Special projects, as assigned.

 

Qualifications and Requirements

1-3 years experience working in a fast-paced corporate environment; experience in PR, marketing, content creation or journalism is a plus Degree in communications, marketing, journalism, english or a related field Excellent verbal and written communication skills; ability to write accurate, compelling and impactful copy and editorial  Strong ability to communicate with clarity and effectiveness for a variety of communication channels Adept at problem-solving and thinking quickly in a fast-paced environment Comfortable with ambiguity and understands the need to pivot quickly and multi-task to support the evolving needs of the business and associate community Excellent interpersonal skills, outgoing and at ease engaging with internal and external stakeholders Dynamic, self-starter who can lead a project from start to finish Highly creative, innovative and ‘out of the box’ thinker Enjoys teamwork and going the extra mile, with a positive attitude Openness to learn from feedback and adjust writing style as necessary Superior attention to detail and highly organized Proficient in Google Workspace, Canva and social media platforms Video editing skills a plus Some travel and work outside of normal business hours In-office work (at least 2 times per week) is required, and non-negotiable

 

Pay/Benefits Information: 

Actual starting pay is determined by various factors, including but not limited to relevant experience and location.
