Coordinator - Emergency Preparedness and Fleet - HH/Hospice

We are hiring a Coordinator Emergency Preparedness & Fleet for our Home Health/Hospice team!

Full Time - 8:00am to 5:00pm

The Emergency Preparedness and Fleet Coordinator (Coordinator) is responsible for both emergency preparedness and fleet management for Home Health and Hospice.

Emergency Preparedness includes management of the Emergency Preparedness Programs for Home Health and Hospice. The incumbent will ensure that all regulatory requirements are met per regulations. Oversees and maintains compliance with federal, regional, and local regulations, standards and guidelines for Home Health and Hospice. Leads Environment Health Safety Committee (EHS) and develops associated gap analyses, risk assessments and reporting. Develops and reviews policies/procedures/plans related to emergency operations. Represents organization at Local, County and State level Emergency Management meetings and community drills/tabletops as assigned. Leads development and conduction of annual drills, table tops and full-scale exercises for emergency situations including hotwashes, after action reviews and corresponding corrective action plans. Ensures the Emergency Preparedness Plans are current for Home Health and Hospice with submission to appropriate regulatory agencies as required. Ensures the Incident Command Center (ICC) for Home Health and Hospice is equipped and facilitates ICC activation in partnership with key stakeholders. Develops innovative Emergency Management educational tools for diverse populations within organization. Partners with regulatory teams for ongoing preparedness.

Fleet management includes maintaining a safe, reliable, and cost-efficient fleet of vehicles to support Home Health and Hospice. The incumbent ensures proper use and care of physical assets, helps to prevent equipment failures, controls costs, manages external vendor relationships, works closely with auto mechanics and internal customers, and performs regular equipment audits. 

The Coordinator is responsible to monitor fleet maintenance. To do this, they schedule Preventative Maintenance Inspections and reviews the results, monitors repairs, and performs vehicle audits to ensure safety, regulatory and appearance standards. The incumbent analyzes equipment or vehicle system failures to determine root causes and resolve problems and plans and coordinates equipment repairs with internal and external groups (e.g., drivers, vendors). This role maintains automotive cost effectiveness. Duties include reviewing equipment failures and component replacements to identify trends, and monitoring key expense indices (e.g., fuel, replacement parts, tires, labor hours, equipment, etc.) to identify and implement cost-saving strategies. Ensure all licensure is maintained for current fleet vehicles in accordance with SCDOT regulations.

The Emergency Preparedness and Fleet Coordinator will fill other duties as assigned.

Education         

High School Diploma

Experience        

Two years of healthcare or business-related experience

License/Registration/Certifications             

Valid Driver’s License in good standing

Core Job Responsibilities

Develops, implements, and updates separate emergency preparedness plans for Home Health and Hospice that optimize all resources; Works with internal and external (Federal, State, and County agencies) sources for disaster assistance, emergency management training, and education programs for Home Health and Hospice; Coordinates mock emergency exercises to test the readiness and effectiveness of resources in integrated emergency response; Attends meetings, training sessions, and other functions to keep abreast of modern methods in managing emergency preparedness and response; Conducts hazard vulnerability analysis (HVA) for Home Health and Hospice; reviews and updates as needed on an annual basis; Ensures FEMA training for self and leadership as appropriate; Manages fleet repair and oversees the correction of problems; Reviews and approve automotive expenses; Verifies external-vendor repairs, preparing repair orders and estimates; Establishes and manages working relationships with vendors
