Actual pay will be determined by experience, skills and internal equity. This is a Salaried position. POSITION SUMMARY: The Coordinator Emergency Medical Services is responsible for the oversight, direction, and coordination of the Delta County Medical Control Authority (DCMCA) in accordance with Michigan EMS Statue, Michigan Department of Health and Human Services Administrative Rules, and approved Delta County Protocols. Assists with the development, approval, and implementation of DCMCA Protocols; and monitors compliance with DCMCA Protocols by hospital and pre-hospital providers. Consults with the local Public Safety Answering Point (PSAP) in provision of Emergency Medical Dispatch (EMD) and monitors the dispatch and response of DCMCA Life Support Agencies. Fosters and maintains positive working relationships among affiliated Region hospitals, pre-hospital personnel, Physicians, Medical Center personnel and external agencies to ensure the provision of Emergency Medical Services (EMS) in within the DCMCA EMS System and Regional Systems of Care. Qualifications REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: Education: Associate degree in emergency management, public health, homeland security, law enforcement Experience: 5 years of experience in emergency medical services Licensure/Certification: Completion of State sponsored Medical Control Authority (MCA) training within 12 months of hire. State of Michigan EMS Provider License EMS Instructor Coordinator obtained within 12 months of hire. Prehospital Trauma Life Support (PHTLS) obtained within 12 months of hire. Other Skills/ Knowledge: Excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Solid computer skills, including proficiency with Microsoft software. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to be detail oriented. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Education: Bachelor’s degree Experience: Project management and performance management experience.
