Position Summary:

Florida Atlantic University is seeking a Coordinator for Academic Programs, Education Abroad - Boca Raton, FL.

Reporting to the Director of Education Abroad, the Coordinator advises students interested in outbound study abroad opportunities as well as incoming international students on exchange programs. The Coordinator manages a portfolio of outbound and inbound programs and students. The Coordinator oversees the planning and successful execution of events and outreach. In addition, the Coordinator works with FAU faculty, academic units, administrative offices, and international partners on recruiting, marketing, special events, and supporting Education Abroad students.

Summary of Responsibilities:

Promote study abroad to students through outreach such as group advising sessions, individual advising appointments, presentations, and on-campus events.

Manage a portfolio of outbound study abroad and inbound international programs to advise students on program selection, requirements, course process, travel documentation, and more. 

Review and process outbound and inbound student applications, administrative fees, program fee payments, international insurance enrollments, and more while maintaining detailed and accurate participant rosters and contact information.

Oversee the planning and successful execution of the Study Abroad Fair, Faculty-led Launch Event, Study Abroad Photo Contest, International Education Week events, and FAU Education Abroad scholarship.

Promote and communicate to current international exchange students and FAU study abroad students Center for Global Engagement programs/events such as the International Friends Program, Global Ambassadors, and the FILC Conference.

Work with Education Abroad undergraduate and graduate student employees to assist with Education Abroad social media platforms and Education Abroad events.

Occasional travel to conferences or workshops for professional and program development.

Works regularly with FAU offices such as Financial Aid, International Services, Admissions, Registrar’s, and Housing to support students.  

Host pre-departure sessions for study abroad students and assist in incoming exchange orientation sessions with Education Abroad and International Services staff.

Offer remote administrative support to study abroad students and faculty during program dates and serve as an incoming exchange student advocate on campus.

Serves as the main point of contact for the Wilkes Honors College (WHC), hosts advising appointments and outreach at the WHC campus in Jupiter once a month or as needed, and attends and hosts events at WHC as needed.

Provide faculty leaders with student emergency documentation and departure information.

Other job-related projects as assigned by direct supervisor.

Minimum Qualifications:

Master's degree from an accredited institution in an appropriate area of specialization; or a bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in an appropriate area of specialization and two years of appropriate experience required.

Valid Florida Driver's License required.


Preferred Qualifications/Skills:

Master’s degree in a related field and at least one year of related work experience.

Experience studying, living, or working abroad.

Experience in international education and student advising.

Proficiency in a foreign language.

Knowledge of education abroad scholarships and funding.

Salary:

$50,000 - $53,000 per year.
