Job Summary

The Technical Fellow Support Coordinator provides support to Battelle’s Technicial Fellow and related technical programs. Under general supervision and acting on own initiative and direction, provides support through imputing, monitoring, and/or administering corresponding department initiatives, projects, or programs in accordance with specific instructions and established work procedures as directed by the Technical Fellow.

 

This position is located in Columbus, OH but will consider remote locations.

Responsibilities Provides general administrative support to Battelle’s Technical Fellow (schedules meetings, responds to and issues correspondence, creates documents and organizes files); understands technical input, summarized, responds and relays information on behalf of the Technical FellowCoordinates and supports programs led by the Technical Fellow:IRAD (Independent Research and Development) program support: creates and provides communications; summarizes technical documents/reviews from Battelle’s Technical Council (“Tech Council”); schedules, supports check-ins/meetings; creates monthly and quarterly technical reports; provides support to monthly portfolio analyses; supports previous year final report readingsIPDR (Intellectual Property Disclosure Reports): general understanding of the IPDR technical content to oversees correspondence between Legal and Inventors; supports scheduling and information transfer for business reviews and portfolio analysis; ensures payout deadlines are met Tech Council: schedules meetings; track actions and provides follow-ups; tracks random Taskers; provides administrative support to Tech Council trainings and meetings; provides logistical support to annual selection of Tech Council membersDocumentation support: Writes, rewrites, and/or edits documentation, communication and reference materials used for a variety of purposes for research and service departments throughout the organization; organizes or restructures documents to meet information dissemination goals; acts in place of potential audience members to ensure that documents achieve their rhetorical and contractual goals; ensures that written product communicates information in a clear and appropriate mannerProvides support in material preparation for quarterly Battelle board of directors’ meetingsTechnical Promotion Reviews: schedules reviews; assembles promotional package materials; answer questions from employees; provides support with written recommendationsRoyalties and Recognition: organizes and supports royalty reviews (old and new portfolios); organizes and supports annual Achievement Awards (Inventor of the Year, Publication, and Idea categories), ensuring submission and other deadlines are metCareer Enablement: provides support to the STEP Program, including meeting scheduling and contentKey Qualifications High School Diploma4-6 years’ experience; or equivalent education and years of experience.Good oral and written communications skills and ability to prioritize and organize work.Self-initiative and ability to work independently.Demonstrated ability to multi-task, prioritize and organize work under tight deadlines and changing priorities.Requires an advanced working knowledge of commonly used PC applications such as word processing, spreadsheets and databases.Preferred Qualifications Bachelor’s degree strongly preferredHands on experience in research-based programsExperience providing programmatic support in a scientific/research setting
