Coordinator of Case Planning

Position Overview: 

This position is an integral part of the Westchester Therapeutic Foster Homes program. This position will also encompass building and growing the Westchester Therapeutic Foster Homes program. This position will support and supervise the case planning component of Westchester Therapeutic Foster Homes. The coordinator will supervise a social worker and a sociotherapist. The coordinator will also support the case planning team by carrying up to three cases. The coordinator will also provide therapeutic support during crisis situations with our youth and families. The coordinator will be able to provide clinical support to the team and the families we serve.

Position Qualifications:

*Candidate must have an MSW.

*Must have at least 2 years of experience in working in the community-based services field and have considerable experience engaging youth, families, and stakeholders within the child welfare system.

*Ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with other professionals, youth, and families.

*Ability to utilize clinical experience to inform decision making and problem solving within the team and with the youth/families we serve.

*Must have at least 1 year of formal and/or informal leadership/supervisory experience.

*Must have understanding and computer literacy skills with Microsoft office such as Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.

*Must have organizational skills.

* Must have a driver’s license.

*Demonstrate an understanding of the importance of culture, race and issues facing adolescents of color.

*Demonstrate ability to effectively use a multi-cultural approach in working with special needs youth.

*Ability to handle crisis situations in a therapeutic manner.

*Ability to work as a team member and independently.

* Effective oral communication skills.

*Ability to work within a team and actively participate in supervision.

*Ability and willingness to be flexible with changing priorities and adapt to the needs of the programs.
