Location District Department DT Human Resources Job Summary Reporting to the Director of Employee Relations, the Coordinator of Employee Relations, is responsible for supporting the management of employee relations by triaging complaints, maintaining accurate documentation, coordinating background checks, and preparing reports. This role collaborates with departments to ensure compliance with organizational policies and fosters a positive workplace culture through the implementation of employee relations initiatives. Primary Duties and Responsibilities Essential Performance Requirements Serves as the initial point of contact for employee complaints, concerns, and inquiries, including those received through designated communication channels Provides timely acknowledgments and maintains comprehensive documentation of inquiries for tracking and reporting purposes Prioritizes incoming communications effectively to ensure accurate categorization and promptly refers to the appropriate team member for resolution Supports case management processes by organizing and maintaining accurate and confidential documentation Collaborates with relevant departments to conduct internal background checks for promotional, transfer, and rehire applicants Responds to inquiries regarding policies, procedures, programs, and compliance matters with accuracy and efficiency Provides backup support for Performance Management and Leave Administration functions and assists with key departmental processes, including grievances and appeal hearings Collects, analyzes, and compiles departmental metrics to identify trends, support data-driven decision-making, and enhance reporting for leadership Manages work assignments to ensure the accurate and timely completion, tracking, and reporting of employee relations issues to department leadership and leverages interpersonal skills, critical thinking, and sound judgment when addressing employee relations issues with leaders, faculty, and staff

Required Minimum Qualifications Bachelor’s degree Three (3) years of working experience in Human Resources,or related field Preferred Qualifications Degree in Human Resources, management, or related field At least one (1) year’s working experience in higher education related to the essential performance requirements Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Working knowledge of relevant federal and state laws regarding Title VII, Title IX, employment, and harassment prevention Skilled in excellent customer service and interpersonal relationships, including strong listening, verbal, and written communication to effectively communicate complex issues with members of all levels of the organization Skilled in using computer applications and enterprise systems, including the Microsoft Office suite Ability to maintain a high level of diplomacy and tact, ensuring confidentiality and discretion with sensitive and confidential information Ability to grasp complex concepts and procedures quickly Ability to think critically to effectively solve and communicate problems in a fast-paced environment where the demands for work are varied and unpredictable in scope and volume Ability to perform and prioritize multiple tasks seamlessly ensuring accurate and timely completion, while exhibiting strong attention to detail and organization Ability to work under pressure with multiple interruptions and meet deadlines Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, customer-service oriented collaborative team environment Physical Demands and Work Environment Physical DemandsThe physical demands described here are representatives of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
