Essential Functions: The Coordinator of Sports Medicine supports the creation, design and implementation of programs that provide direct support in the delivery of sports medicine services for the organization. Coordinates the medical coverage for all athletic functions, which includes scheduling of doctors, athletic trainers etc. Collaborates with stakeholders/leaders to develop and maintain athletic training programs that are responsive to the athlete/ patient needs and are strategically integrated with the mission, goals and objectives of the organization. Assists with the with the administration and oversight of staff management directives and ensures compliance of staff with all regulatory agencies. Develops, implements and enforces policies and procedures to ensure the safety of all athletes. Also supports efforts to increase the market share to various groups.

EXPERIENCE QUALIFICATIONS

2-3 years of experience Head certified athletic trainer

EDUCATION QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelor's Degree in Athletic Training, Sports Medicine, or related field

LICENSES AND CERTIFICATIONS

Basic Life Support Health Care Provider American Heart Association

Athletic Trainer Louisiana State Board of Medical Examiners

Certified Athletic Trainer National Athletic Trainers Association Board of Certification for the Athletic Trainers

SKILLS AND ABILITIES

Knowledge of scope of practice based on the State Practice Act.

Proficient communication with athletes, coaches, caregivers, physicians and staff.
