Job SummaryUnder the guidance of the Director, Cancer Center, the Coordinator, Oncology Care is responsible for coordination of multidisciplinary clinic programs and care continuum for patients diagnosed and/or to receive therapy at the Medical Center.
Job DetailsCoordinates multidisciplinary clinic programs including program development and services.Navigates the care continuum for patients by collaborating with the Medical Director, referring physicians and other professionals. Acts as a ""compass"" for patients diagnosed and/or receiving therapy at the Medical Center.Ensures timely scheduling of diagnostic work-up, results reporting and communications between patients and the multidisciplinary team.Promotes the multidisciplinary team process and ensures patient receives necessary referrals and follow-up.Provides efficient and effective care for patients and families utilizing resources efficiently and effectively. Keeps current with emerging technologies and treatment trends.Coordinates cancer related patient/staff education programs, projects, services and groups.Assists with community events such as health screenings and detection support. Evaluates the effectiveness and results of such programs and services and is involved with outcomes research.Compiles and analyzes Quality Improvement data and benchmarking.Serves as a patient advocate by promoting timely, competent and compassionate care.Completes mandatory education and training in order to maintain organization and department specific competencies and requirements. Maintains applicable certification/licensure. Maintains required CPR (BLS).Other duties as assigned
