The Opportunity
This position works out of our Alameda, CA location in the Diabetes Care division where we are focused on helping people with diabetes manage their health with life-changing products that provide accurate data to drive better-informed decisions. We’re revolutionizing the way people monitor their glucose levels with our new sensing technology. 

As a Coordinator Project Design, you will have the opportunity to provide organizational and project support to the department by working directly with a cross-functional teams, external translation suppliers, as well as internal Design Production Artists to coordinate and execute activities related to the development of packaging and labeling items for the launch and maintenance of Abbott Diabetes Care products (Freestyle Libre).  You'll assist to integrate activities associated with upgrades/changes to existing products and New Product Introduction (NPI) programs. In addition, you may be responsible for project documentation, schedules, time-lines and change orders, and meeting minutes.   You'll leverage your communication and interpersonal skills as you effectively represent our department in cross-functional teams and actively participate to coordinate on-time delivery of accurate Artwork and labeling items.   This is an onsite role in Alameda, CA.

What You’ll Work On

Project coordination with internal cross-functional teams consisting of R&D, Regulatory, Legal, Purchasing, Operations, and Quality to develop packaging and labeling items for new products or revisions to existing products.

Accountable for preparing the required Packaging and Labeling items to meet project launch timelines.

Responsible for organizing and coordinating the efficient use of Artwork and Packaging resources to meet deadlines for new product introductions (NPIs), product releases and product revisions.

Tracking and coordinating the translation of product packaging and labeling items with language translation agencies, including managing relationships and performance with these partners.

Responsibilities may include estimating and managing budgets for artwork and packaging project deliverables

Interpreting project schedules and escalating project timeline risks to management as needed, following through on project deadlines and/or adjustments.

Performing Labeling Coordination tasks using electronic workflow system, applying attention to information details and ensuring data accuracy.

Ensures Standard Operating Procedures are followed, may identify and suggest process improvements.

Required Qualifications

Bachelors Degree, preferably in Communications or Marketing or minimum of five years of relevant work experience in lieu of degree.2-4 years of work experience including coordinating and executing project activities.Understanding of AGILE (or similar) documentation approval system.Familiar with Engineering Change Orders (ECs) and Bill of Materials (BOM).Ability to read and interpret project schedules.Strong proofreading ability and attention to detail is required.Must demonstrate strong problem solving techniques.Computer literacy with both PC and MAC platformsSoftware literacy levels desired: Microsoft Office Suite: Mid level experienceUnderstanding of FDA regulatory issues related to medical device products and/or diabetic disease states is helpful but not required.Good time management skills; ability to set priorities and remain flexible to changes.

Preferred Qualifications

Exhibits excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills when interacting with both internal and external customersStrong interpersonal skills, must be service oriented.Displays solid organizational skills, with the flexibility to quickly realign priorities to meet changing business needs.Ability to work on premises for core working hours of department.Knowledge in legal aspects of packaging, trademarks, and promotions is helpful but not a required.Background in print production is preferred but not required.

The base pay for this position is $79,500.00 – $138,700.00. In specific locations, the pay range may vary from the range posted.
