Overview

Work in the heart of #humankindess at CHI St. Alexius Health Devils Lake.

As our Coordinator RN, you'll direct patient care in accordance with established policies and procedures of the nursing department, professional standards of nursing, applicable Federal and State laws, state nursing practice guidelines and regulatory agencies. Our Coordinator RN works collaboratively with all departments to assure highest quality of care for patients ranging from neonatal to geriatric.

You'll assure safe, efficient operation of the clinical department(s) to ensure a smooth operation which includes performance improvement activities, quality care, proper documentation to ensure compliance and completeness. This position will also monitor productivity and financial measures within the unit operations. Your attention to detail will be essential in developing, reviewing and revising policies and procedures in conjunctions with the nursing practice council. Your organization skills will ensure all necessary tools and supplies are available and staffing needs are met. 

Furthermore, you'll utilize your leadership abilities as you will participate as a full, collaborative member of the nursing leadership council with other coordinators by participating in staffing, scheduling and budgeting. You'll mentor new staff directly, model positive and professional behavior and accountability. 

To thrive in this role, you'll be an effective and clear communicator with physicians, co-workers and other departments to provide consistent care based on the changing physical, medical and psych-social needs unique to each patient. Provides feedback in a timely manner.

Daily Nursing and CNA Assignments- works in collaboration with department supervisor to ensure safe staffing levels (twice daily staffing review with department supervisors) accounting for scheduled outpatient procedures outside of the SDS departmentCollaborates with department supervisors for daily safety huddlesDaily Multidisciplinary HuddleAttends safety first huddles dailyRounding in all clinical departments Patient Placement and admission coordination Swing intakes (In conjunction with swing bed coordinator)ER AdmissionSurgery AdmissionsDirect admits from the communityWorks in collaboration with Case Management and primary nurse to coordinate efficient and complete patient dischargeAccountability to ensure Patient Experience tactics are in place - bedside report, intentional hourly rounding, leader rounding in collaboration with nursing leadership and hospital leadership teamAssures standards of patient care are met through quality measuresInfection Prevention - line and drain necessityFall Prevention - Environment and Documentation are appropriate and in placeSwing bed quality oversightImprovement in self careImprovement in MobilityServes as knowledgeable and experienced resource for staffWorks in collaboration with medical providers/hospitalists to ensure the safety and quality of patient care.   Assures IRIS are entered on all appropriate causesRapid ResponseAMA/LWOBSWorkplace violenceWorkplace injuryMedication errorOther qualifying eventsActs as Incident Commander for Emergency Preparedness until Hospital Leadership is on campusRequired to complete NIMS ICS 100, 200, 700, 800 (all available online, free of charge.)

Qualifications
Graduate of an approved school of professional nursing. Associate of Science in Nursing.Active Registered Nurse (RN) License in the State of North Dakota (ND).American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS). ACLS, PALS, NRP, TNCCAbility to operate computer programs such as Google Suite, Meditech, Med Assets, and Milliman.
