This position will be with the NW LA Human Services District - Shreveport Behavioral Health Clinic located at 1310 N Hearne Avenue Shreveport, LA 71107. The incumbent will have to travel within our nine parishes. This position is an Unclassified WAE (When Actually Employed) Part-time position. The incumbent may not exceed 1245 hours in a 12 month period. This will be 20 hours per week. The incumbent will provide HIV Outreach Services in our 9 parishes. Examples of Work *Contacts, communicates and follows-up with high risk substance abusers, their associates, and neighborhood residents, within the constraints of Federal and State confidentiality requirements, including 42 CFR part 2. *Promotes awareness among injecting drug abusers about the relationship between injecting drug abuse and communicable diseases such as HIV. *Recommends steps that can be taken to ensure that HIV transmission does not occur. *Encourages entry into treatment. *Access out-of-treatment drug users at risk and elicits their commitment to HIV/AIDS risk reduction. *Provides HIV prevention services to high risk populations in a wide range of settings, including community health and social service agencies, hospitals and clinics, and drug treatment and correctional facilities. *Coordinates across settings enhancing intervention impact and reduces unnecessary service duplication. *Maintains outreach tracking log detailing outreach dates, locations, contact person(s) and outreach activities.
