BWXT is currently seeking a Core Design Thermal-Hydraulic Engineering intern for its BIC Campus in Lynchburg, VA location.
BWXT is seeking an intern with the responsibility for providing support including, but not limited to:
+ Collaborate with experienced engineers and designers to develop analytical models for nuclear reactor thermal-hydraulic performance analysis and assess their operating characteristics using state-of-the-art analysis software.
+ Work within a multi-disciplinary team to make design tradeoffs and decisions relating to thermal-hydraulic performance of a terrestrial or space based nuclear reactor system.
Job Qualifications / Requirements:
+ Must be a currently enrolled student, pursuing a degree in engineering.
+ Must have a strong interest in thermal-hydraulic engineering.
+ Must have taken introductory engineering classes, including thermodynamics/heat transfer, fluid mechanics, or those same topics covered in nuclear engineering courses.
+ Experience with thermal-hydraulic analysis tools (MOOSE, Ansys or other) is a plus.
+ Must be a U.S. citizen.

The starting hourly rate for this position in [[stateProvince]] at the start of employment is expected to be between $[[cust_salaryMin]] and $[[cust_salaryMax]] per hour. The hourly rate offered is based on local job market factors and other objective business considerations. Subject to these considerations, the total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, such as a full range of medical, retirement, and/or other benefits.
