Corporate Accountant
Job Title: Corporate AccountantJob Description The Corporate Accountant is a tech-savvy, high-performing individual responsible for maintaining full cycle accounting records and related regulatory filings for corporate legal entities and other holding companies. This role supports the rollout and maintenance of financial systems and policies to streamline processes and increase efficiencies across the company. The ideal candidate will foster a team-oriented culture that promotes commitment to health, safety, environmental responsibility, sustainable development, and operational excellence. Responsibilities + Maintain accounting records for corporate legal entities and other holding companies, including financial records, general ledger reconciliations, bank reconciliations, journal entries, and intercompany transactions in multiple currencies. + Collaborate with reporting units to resolve accounting issues and ensure operational and financial reporting is in line with group policies. + Assist with the production of consolidated monthly and other ad-hoc operational and financial reports. + Oversee the accounts payable function, including invoice entry, coding and authorization, payment runs, wire payments, and credit card reconciliations. + Oversee intercompany billings, including review of monthly intercompany invoices, reconciliation of intercompany accounts, and intercompany confirmations for relevant subsidiaries. + Assist in the consolidation process and prepare financial statement note disclosure working papers to meet quarterly financial reporting deadlines. + Prepare quarterly sales tax returns, reconcile quarterly refunds against returns, and perform self-assessments. + Coordinate with and support auditors’ activities (internal audit, external audit, and internal controls over financial reporting) to ensure all audit issues are resolved and compliance requirements are met. + Assist in the annual Head Office budget process. + Undertake any other projects or reporting as required by the role or at the request of the Manager, Corporate Accounting & Financial Systems. Essential Skills + Proficient with IFRS + CPA (1+ years post designation) or equivalent designations from G7 countries (ACCA, CGA, CMA) + 3-5 years experience as a corporate accountant for a multi-entity, multi-currency, multi-jurisdiction organization + Experience in the mining, forestry, oil/gas, or construction industry + Strong communication skills, both written and spoken Additional Skills & Qualifications + Experience with SAP S/4Hana, SAP Concur, and CentreSuite + Experience with Onestream + ERP Implementation experience + Spanish speaker Work Environment The role is based in a collaborative and high-performing corporate finance team, reporting to the Manager, Corporate Accounting & Financial Systems. The work environment is dynamic, with a focus on team building and fostering a culture of togetherness. The position requires 3 days in the office in Vancouver, Monday to Friday, from 8 AM to 5 PM, with a business casual dress code. The office is transit accessible and offers new, beautiful workspaces.
