Job Title: Corporate Accounting Intern
Department: Accounting
Job Summary: The Corporate Accounting intern will assist in the day-to-day operations of various facets of the Corporate Accounting team, including financial reporting, fixed assets, and site accounting. This internship will also provide the opportunity to interface with other members of the Finance team as well as work on special projects related to financial analysis and reporting.
Principal Duties:Assist with preparing and reviewing monthly and quarterly financial reports, including the consolidated GAAP financial statements and footnotes, internal P&L reports, and census information.Contribute to the execution of ongoing fixed asset processes and reconciliations, and help with initiatives to make those processes more efficient.Perform reconciliations of designated Corporate-level general ledger accounts, such as prepaid expenses and accrued liabilities, and assist with the research of any unusual items.Perform analyses of store-level P&L areas such as utilities, trash, repairs & maintenance, and real estate taxes in order to help explain variances to budget and prior year.Assist with the standardization and documentation of ongoing processes within Corporate Accounting as a whole, and make recommendations for any potential process improvements.Perform other accounting duties and special projects as assigned by department supervisors.Interface with other Finance teams, and assist with collaborative projects as needed.Essential Functions:

Pursuing bachelor’s degree in a business-related discipline (major/concentration in accounting highly preferred; at least some intermediate accounting coursework required prior to the start of the internship). Orientation toward a CPA designation a plus, but not required.Working knowledge of basic and intermediate Microsoft Excel functions (including pivot tables and lookup functions).Knowledge of other Microsoft Office applications (such as Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook).Experience/coursework in data analytics techniques as it relates to large datasets.Minimum GPA of 3.0 or HigherCandidates must be currently enrolled in a college or university for the Spring 2025 semester – Fall 2026 semesterCandidate must be available from May 19, 2025 – August 7, 2025Wawa currently observes a 4-day in office schedule Monday - Thursday with an opportunity to work remote on Friday.Wawa will provide reasonable accommodation to complete an application upon request, consistent with applicable law.
