Corporate Accounting Manager

MV Transportation is seeking Accounting Managers, whose responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

Manage the month-end close process for assigned divisions, including review and approval of staff journal entries and preparation of more complex journal entries.Ensure all accounting entries are timely, accurate, properly supported and in compliance with GAAP.Effectively and frequently communicate with divisional staff and support team members to ensure accurate financial statements.  Perform analysis to drill in and determine causes in order to recommend solutions.  Review of GL trial balances, making necessary journal entries, reviewing necessary reports at month end, including completing appropriate analysis and research as needed.Prepare, review and approve account reconciliations.Design and implement process improvements.Provide accounting guidance and support to the organization.Prepare schedules for annual report and support annual audit process.Directly interface with external auditors including preparation of audit PBC’s; footnotes and disclosure schedules; and whitepapers.Maintain accurate and timely divisional and corporate reporting.Special projects as assigned.Implement, promote and adhere to overall MV corporate policies and procedures.

Talent Requirements:

Undergraduate or graduate degree in accounting, finance or related business field.CPA highly preferred.Seve (7) to 10 years of accounting experience with a large volume, dynamic, fast paced company including two (2)+ years of supervisory experience. Transportation/transit experience a plus.ASC 606 experience a plus.Knowledge of insurance accounting and actuarial reporting desired. 

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

MS Office, strong analytical skills, strong written and verbal communication skills and high degree of multi-tasking skills.Knowledge of the preparation of involved and detailed accounting and other financial reports containing findings, conclusions, and recommendations.Ability to plan, direct, and coordinate difficult, complex financial transactions.Demonstrated ability to design and execute new accounting procedures.Independent problem solver with ability to proactively develop and successfully lead initiatives.Ability to apply sound, independent judgment in the solutions of financial problems and in the administration of financial programs.Ability to make oral and written presentations in a clear, concise manner.Ability to work with a team.Understanding of multi-company reporting and transactions.
