CORPORATE AFFAIRS ASSOCIATE MANAGER

To ensure the anticipation and assessment of change in the political, legislative, and regulatory environment which builds commercial risk and competitive opportunity for the company in the market, and for the development and implementation of strategies and programs that minimize risk and improve advantage in a responsible, proactive manner. The incumbent must deliver approved JTI views and positions to key political and regulatory partners in line with JTI’s policy of providing practical, important solutions to public policy issues and challenges. The incumbent must ensure that all Corporate Affairs activities align with JTI’s Code of Conduct and Operating Guidelines.

As the Corporate Affairs Associate Manager you will: 

Assess political, legislative, and regulatory developments to anticipate and shape changes or trends in the Operating Environment that will create commercial risk and competitive advantage. Ensure that these developments are communicated immediately to the Market Corporate Affairs Lead, Corporate Affairs and Communications Director, and as required, to the General Manager and members of the market Excom.

Conduct constructive dialogue with senior-level external stakeholders by demonstrating a thorough understanding of the political and legislative process, including the mechanisms through which draft laws and other regulatory instruments are designed, introduced, and debated. Identify the specific timing and channels through which JTI can present its views and positions, or through which JTI can provide practical, important solutions in a responsible, proactive manner.

Build positive working relationships with key external stakeholders and proactively seek opportunities for collaboration. Utilize the stakeholder map to monitor and assess the development of public and regulatory policy and develop effective strategies to ensure that JTI’s views and positions are communicated in a timely, effective, and consistent manner. Ensure that all Corporate Affairs programs are regularly assessed against agreed-upon performance criteria and objectives.

Develop, recommend, and lead approved political and regulatory strategies to ensure that the company’s positions, views, and potential solutions are presented in a timely, effective, and consistent manner.

Build collaborative working relationships with internal stakeholders to provide CA support and deliver on business and CA&C objectives.

 

Requirements: 

University or above. Major in Legal/Politics/PR. Postgraduate degree a plus. At least 3 to 8 years working with multi-national companies or government-related associations with Corporate Affairs or legislation experience. Excellent Chinese and English communication skills Proficient in MS Office.
