This position will primarily support the Advocacy and Philanthropy team with some added responsibilities for the broader Corporate Affairs team. Helping to implement the company’s philanthropy strategy and ensuring smooth operation of all Giving Fund payments will also be a part of this position. The Advocacy and Philanthropy team is part of a larger Corporate Affairs organization within Weyerhaeuser. Weyerhaeuser’s Advocacy team is a small but mighty group of government relations professionals who shape policy and legislation affecting the company at all levels of government. Our team engages with elected officials and stakeholders to advance solutions for key public policy issues. We align Weyerhaeuser’s external policy priorities and objectives to support and strengthen our business objectives.
The position is based at our corporate headquarters office in Seattle, WA on a hybrid schedule (onsite Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and remote Monday/Friday). This role will report to the Head of Federal Affairs while providing support to a geographically diverse regional team and the Corporate Affairs Lead team.
Responsibilities:
Manage company political engagement program including the company PAC budget, internal education efforts and organize and participate in political fundraising activities Manage communications and programs to empower connections between employees and elected officialsManage federal and state political compliance for the companySupport the Advocacy and Philanthropy and broader Corporate Affairs teams with administrative dutiesSupport Weyerhaeuser Giving Fund and philanthropy processesPolitical, PAC and Compliance Duties
o Partner with the Head of Federal Affairs on PAC management and PAC planning.
o Organize fundraising requests, check requests for campaigns and coordinate with campaign fundraising teams
o Prepare quarterly updates for the PAC Board of Directors
o Design and produce companywide presentations and semi-annual newsletter distribution with political updates
o Manage confidential employee data internally and with external vendor
o Manage and maintain company political compliance program including preparing and submitting state and federal reports monthly, quarterly, and semi-annually
o Draft, develop and review materials for internal PAC solicitations and other outreach
o Research and prepare briefing materials on federal policymakers including members of the Administration and Members of Congress
o Stay current on government relations best practices and fundraising techniques
o Coordinate and plan facility tours for congressional members
o Represent the company at policy and political briefings and meetings
o Prepare, edit, and finalize correspondence, reports, presentations, and other essential documents
o Monitor and report on hearings, markups and other legislative and regulatory events
o Draft updates for internal stakeholders and material to support advocacy efforts.

Compensation: This role is eligible for our annual merit-increase program, and we are targeting a salary range of $62,900 to $94,300based on your level of skills, qualifications and experience. You will also be eligible for our Annual Incentive Program, which offers a cash bonus targeting 5% of base pay based on your level of skills, qualifications and experience. Potential plan funding may range from zero to two times that target.
