A Corporate Audit Services (Accounting Audit) Management Trainee position in the Audit department offers a dynamic and engaging opportunity for individuals eager to kickstart their career in auditing within the transportation industry. This role is designed to immerse candidates in various auditing processes, risk assessments, and compliance checks, ensuring the integrity and efficiency of operational and financial practices across the company. Trainees will work closely with experienced auditors, gaining hands-on experience and insights into railway operations and management complexities. Through mentorship, structured training programs, and practical assignments, candidates will develop the skills necessary to advance within the company and play a crucial role in upholding BNSF's commitment to excellence and accountability.

This is a full-time, hybrid position requiring a minimum of 40 hrs/wk, split between the office and remote work, with weekend or evening work as needed.

Travel is minimal, must have reliable transportation to and from work.

Relocation is required if located more than 50 miles from the location.

Training will start with a week of orientation in Fort Worth, Texas, offering a company overview and networking with leaders. This will be followed by support of ongoing projects and practical training with the department.

Key responsibilities may include:

Execution of analysis and testing as part of audits.  Audits can also be focused on the revenue/finance and subsidiary governance processes, or operational processes.
Manage work assignments and timelines.

Develop detailed test procedures that address audit objectives and significant risks, under supervision.

Interpret and evaluate audit evidence. Be able to present audit results, both in written and verbal formats.

Document work performed with logical conclusions and appropriate audit evidence and support.

Possess leadership, teamwork, clear communication, adaptability, and resilience to overcome obstacles and meet deadlines in a dynamic work environment. 

Daily work is conducted in an indoor office environment.

Basic Qualifications:

Legally authorized to work in the United States and will be at least eighteen (18) years old upon hire.Does not require sponsorship to obtain, maintain, or extend authorization to work in the United States. (For example, H1-B Visa or STEM OPT)Pursuing a Bachelors or Graduate degree in Accounting or Finance (with a minor in Accounting) from an accredited university OR I have obtained a degree in Accounting or Finance (with a minor in Accounting).Have and will maintain at least a 2.75 cumulative GPA.Have LESS THAN three (3) years of professional work experience, EXCLUDING internships, part-time jobs, or positions held while pursuing my undergraduate and/or graduate degree.

Preferred Qualifications:

Have your Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license or have the Intention to pursue CPA.Prior intern experience or less than 3 years of work experience in Accounting or Audit.Have or have held a leadership position in a campus, community, or extracurricular organization.
