About The Role Summary The Quality Assurance BSA Officer is a vital resource for the organization’s compliance with BSA/AML/CFT regulations. Will perform all functions necessary to maintain compliance with the GBCI BSA/AML/CFT/OFAC Program, Policies, and Procedures in order for the bank to comply with legal and regulatory requirements and maintain satisfactory ratings on all BSA/AML/CFT Audits and Exams. This is a Corporate position which may be located at an available bank division location across our eight-state footprint in AZ, CO, ID, MT, NV, UT, WA, or WY. The entry rate for this position is $56,762.89/ per year (calculated for Kalispell, MT). All compensation offers are analyzed individually and take into consideration multiple factors including but not limited to geographic location, years of experience, and educational background. Description Ensures compliance with regulatory obligations by testing, tracking, and analyzing all aspects of the BSA/AML/CFT Program for accuracy, completeness, and timeliness according to procedures. Identifies exceptions, gaps, and inefficiencies in policies and procedures. Provides feedback and reports to Corporate BSA Manager and others as applicable. Maintains all supporting documentation for quality control work performed. Maintains and updates the BSA/AML/CFT Quality Assurance Procedures and supports schedule of activities. Utilizes AML/SAM application and systems as applicable in the course of performing quality control activities. Maintains an understanding and working knowledge of banking operations as they relate to BSA/AML/CFT/OFAC compliance including teller functions, new accounts, wire transfers, electronic banking and letters of credit, etc. Ensures that training is kept current on BSA/AML/CFT/OFAC regulations. Assists in the development of BSA training materials and program as needed. Serves as a liaison for assigned DBSAC(s). Serves as a point of contact and provide support (i.e. data gathering) to internal auditors during the audit process. Ensures exam requests are handled in a timely, confidential manner. Assists the Corporate BSA Manager in developing and maintaining standard procedures to detail the bank’s efforts to comply with BSA/AML/CFT/OFAC requirements. Must comply with all company policies and procedures and all applicable laws and regulations, including but not limited to, the Bank Secrecy Act, the Patriot Act, and the Office of Foreign Assets Control. Must complete the assigned online training courses and achieve a passing score by due date. Education Required/Preferred Education Level Description Required Associate Degree Two-year college degree in Business, Intelligence Studies, Accounting, Finance, Law, Criminology, or related field. Preferred Bachelor’s Degree Business, Intelligence Studies, Accounting, Finance, Law, Criminology, or related field. Experience Required/Preferred Experience Level Description Required 5 years Banking experience in branch operations, compliance, audit, lending or a related function. Required Two years investigations experience preferably in law enforcement, security, fraud, or anti-money-laundering Required Advanced / Specialized Knowledge General bank products and services, particularly those offered in a community banking environment, including understanding of bank operations and the flow of funds through a financial institution. Required Knowledge Of BSA/AML regulations and compliance as it applies to transaction monitoring, SAR filing, CTR filing, CTR exemptions, CDD, OFAC. Preferred 1 year BSA/AML quality assurance, testing or audit experience at a financial institution. Would an equivalent combination of relevant education and work experience be considered?: Yes License/Certification Required/Preferred License/Certification Description Preferred Certified BSA/AML Professional BSA Certification, such as CBAP, CAMS, ACFCS Required Skills and Abilities · Ability to motivate or influence internal or external senior level professionals is a critical part of the job, requiring a significant level of influence and trust. Obtaining cooperation and agreement on important outcomes via frequently complex, senior level dialogues, as well as a professional level of written communication skills are essential to the position. · Moderate computer skills, with working knowledge of word processing, excel spreadsheets, ten-key, and general computer applications. · Working knowledge of standard office equipment. · Knowledge of BSA/AML/OFAC regulations. · High degree of attention to detail as well as excellent organizational skill(s) to perform in a fast-paced environment. · Ability to prioritize and organize heavy workload(s) and demonstrate effective time management skill(s). · Ability to work in a professional manner and consistently demonstrate courtesy, customer service, and tact in a fast-paced/deadline-oriented environment. · Ability to work quickly, independently, accurately and make decisions based on regulation(s), company policy(s), knowledge and experience. · Ability to understand and follow complex written and oral instructions. · Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing. · Employee must be capable of interacting calmly and professionally with a variety of people from diverse backgrounds at various levels within and outside of the organization. · Employee must be capable of regular, reliable, and timely attendance. Additional Requirements Travel Occasional travel required: (less than 10 days per year) by automobile (as driver and passenger), commercial airlines, rental vehicles and public transportation and be able to lodge in public facilities.
