JOB SUMMARY
The Food Service Professional role will be a member of the team responsible for guest service and food production in the café located in the Denny’s Corporate Support Center. This team will serve fellow Support Center coworkers and leaders during office hours.
Food Service professionals are required to follow the company menu and food specifications as well as timing standards while offering fast friendly service to all guests. In this position you may be both dealing with order entry via a touch screen and “hands on” food preparation. Additionally, the Food Service Pro must adhere to all federal, state, and local safe food handling regulations.
** This is a part time position. The weekly scheduled hours will vary between 15-25 hours vary, Monday – Wednesday, from 6AM - 4PM**
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS (Duties & Responsibilities)
Provides prompt and courteous service and is cordial to all team members and guests Accurately enters orders on point of sale system Demonstrates knowledge of all front of the house stations Addresses complaints and requests promptly in a courteous manner and notifies the supervisor of any issuesDemonstrates safe cash handling procedures in accordance with policy and accurately completes cash, credit card, transactionsPrepares, cooks and presents food to order following established company standards, guidelines and recipe specificationsOrganizes and maintains work areas, coolers and storage areas at all timesComplete other duties as assigned.EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
Must be eighteen years old or olderMust be able to communicate effectively in English both orally and in writingMust be able to pass all required tests and training requirements for the positionMust be able to work in a team environmentMeets the Company and grooming standards and maintains them throughout the shiftPossesses excellent guest service skillsMust be flexible and able to switch between food prep, food cooking and guest service duties at the direction of their supervisorPossesses basic math skills (add, subtract, multiply and divide) including understanding of units of measureMust be dependable and able to learn basic tasks and follow instructionsMust be able to observe and ensure product is prepared and presented to the company’s Brand StandardsMust meet any state, county or municipal regulation pertaining to health risk concerns about food handlingPlaces a value on diversity and shows respect for othersREQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Must be able to lift a tray weighing up to twenty-five poundsMust be able to lift and carry supplies and equipment weighing up to fifty pounds; place items on high and low shelves in office, store rooms, service areas, walk-in coolers and freezers Must be able to bend, stoop, reach, grasp and lift up to 40 lbs.Must be able to hear well in a loud environment to respond to employee and guest needsMust meet any state, county or municipal regulation pertaining to health risk concerns about food handlingMust be able to operate point-of-sale system and differentiate between monetary denominationsMust be able to work with all Denny’s Corporate Cafe menu productsMust be able to work with potentially hazardous chemicalsMust have sufficient mobility to move and operate in confined work areaMust be able to work inside and outside the restaurantMust be able to observe staff and all aspects of restaurant operations
