Corporate Commercial Lawyer
Our Hamilton-based client, a well-established firm with a robust Corporate & Commercial Real Estate practice is seeking an experienced Corporate/Commercial Real Estate Lawyer to join their team and take on a leadership role. This opportunity offers the chance to work alongside the partners and a team of more than 12 associates, with a strong focus on providing exceptional legal services in both corporate and commercial real estate matters. The ideal candidate will have a 5+ years track record, bringing their own clients and expertise to the firm.

The Role:
As a Corporate/Commercial Real Estate Lawyer, you will be responsible for handling a diverse range of matters, including corporate law, commercial real estate transactions, and mixed corporate-real estate deals. You will be expected to step into a leadership role within the team and contribute to both client development and internal team management. The role is ideal for someone with a book of business who is ready to contribute to the growth of the firm's Corporate/Commercial Real Estate department.

Key Responsibilities:Manage and advise clients on corporate law matters, including mergers, acquisitions, shareholder agreements, and general corporate governance.Handle complex commercial real estate transactions, including acquisitions, dispositions, leasing, financing, and development.Serve as a leader within the team, providing guidance and mentorship to junior associates.Leverage existing client relationships while developing new business opportunities for the firm.Collaborate closely with partners to enhance the firm's overall service offerings in both corporate and commercial real estate sectors.Compensation & Benefits:Salary: Competitive, starting at $140,000, with the potential to adjust based on experience and the size of your book of business.Bonus Structure: Substantial bonus potential based on net collections (25% and up), with significant upside based on performance and client contributions.Partnership Track: Long-term partnership potential, contingent on performance, client development, and other factors.Work-Life Balance: Standard working hours of 8 AM to 5 PM, ensuring a healthy work-life balance.Support Team: The firm boasts a comprehensive support team, including 2 designated support staff, as well as additional clerks and assistants.Ideal Candidate:
We are looking for a Corporate/Commercial Real Estate Lawyer with 5+ years of experience who can step into a leadership role within the team. The successful candidate will ideally bring their own book of clients or have strong relationships that can be leveraged. The ideal candidate should possess a client-focused attitude, strong leadership skills, and the drive to contribute to the firm’s continued growth.

Qualifications:5+ years of experience in corporate law and commercial real estate transactions.A book of business is preferred but not required.Strong ability to manage complex transactions and build lasting client relationships.Leadership skills and a collaborative, client-focused mindset.Ability to contribute to the overall strategic direction of the Corporate/Commercial Real Estate department.
