Corporate Communications Manager

The Opportunity

Reporting to the Vice President, External of Communications, the Corporate Communications Manager will tell our story externally through multiple tactics. You will work on activities designed to enhance our image and promote its success among partners, including media, customers, community partners, and third-party organizations. You will also support the team in growing the Qurate Retail Group’s (QRG) social media platform as part of broader newsroom editorial team. Manage Corporate Communications intern program and agency resources.

This role is hybrid-remote and is based in West Chester, PA.

Your Impact

Support issues response communications.

Implement QRG’s industry awards/rankings strategy according to Awards and Rankings priorities. This will include maintaining a database of target awards programs, surfacing new awards/ranking opportunities that align with awards and rankings strategy, and drafting awards submissions. 

Work with teams to define strategy across business the QRG family of brands.

Member of the newsroom editorial team leading the development of new projects and visibility opportunities that engage partners and tell our corporate story. This will include strategic support of corporate social media platform, creation of content that can be used across a variety of owned external platforms, and support of leadership in building their social influencer status. 

Manage the ongoing implementation of QRG’s External Communications policy – vetting requests from team members and making recommendations according to corporate visibility goals.

Assess requests and inquiries from third parties (media, industry groups, conferences) and make recommendations according to QRG external visibility goals. Support opportunities. 

Support multiple leaders in external visibility opportunities to include: presentation support, talking point development, and onsite support.

What You Bring

Bachelor’s Degree in Communications or the equivalent combination of hands on experience.

8+ years of experience in a communications role within a corporation or agency. 

Experience with global brands, working with publicly traded companies, and retail industry knowledge.

Experience advising senior leaders.

Experience supporting crisis communication plans.

Media relations skills and direct experience working with a variety of media – print, broadcast, online.

Knowledge and interest in new media and its influence on reputation and media and consumer sentiment.

Must be available evenings and weekends and to travel.

Experience using latest technology.

Remote work is not permitted in NYC at this time.
