Corporate and Public Affairs (CAPA) delivers best-in-class external and internal communications to help differentiate TD in the market and elevate our brand. Role Overview:

We are looking for an experienced communicator to help tell the Bank's story and bring our purpose to life. You'll plan, develop and deliver engaging content for our Technology and Innovation businesses with a focus on supporting customer-focused external and internal communication programs that include media relations, digital communications, thought leadership and social media.

The successful candidate will be a strong communicator who has superior stakeholder management and relationship-building skills, proven experience in media relations, storytelling and executing events, as well as navigating issues.

The successful candidate will:

Play a lead role in driving strategy and delivering external communications for our Technology and Innovation businesses, which includes overseeing and prioritizing incoming media requests and researching and writing flawless communication materials, including press releases, articles, media pitches and announcements.

Leverage extensive media relations experience and relationships to develop and deliver a proactive always-on media program, capitalizing on emerging trends and capturing share of voice.

Work closely with the Senior Manager, Corporate and Public Affairs to develop and execute external and internal communications tactics that celebrate our colleagues and their achievements and support the Technology and Innovation business priorities.

Work closely with senior leaders and business partners to develop and drive strategic communications plans to help bring TD's technology and innovation narrative to life.

Identify and use the most appropriate storytelling tools to produce and deliver compelling content to employee and external audiences, leveraging traditional, online and social that will help influence stakeholders and drive engagement across a number of channels, audiences and geographies.

Develop communications collateral in a variety of mediums (e.g. media releases, media pitches, social media posts, videos, FAQs, briefing documents, emails, etc.) in multiple voices intended for key target audiences.

Act as a media spokesperson as required and provide guidance to senior leaders and business partners on reputational risk as needed, pertaining to businesses you support.

Monitor and measure the impact of communications to increase value and bring forward creative solutions.

Develop strong relationships across the Bank to ensure strategic alignment and build trust.

Manage relationship with PR agency to help deliver end-to-end earned, owned, and paid results.

What you bring to the role:

7-12 years of experience in corporate communications or agency environment.

Strong track record in both proactive and reactive media relations. Experience working with journalists and publications focused on technology/innovation.

Strong interest in the technology sector with ability to understand complex technology trends and translate into simplified messages.

Exceptional writing skills and a passion for storytelling. Experience managing editorial calendars.

Ability to develop and implement innovative communications strategies to effectively drive business objectives and use data and analytics to track results.

Proven experience providing communications counsel and issues management to business partners and senior executives, managing complex corporate issues.

Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment under tight deadlines; self-starter highly motivated to deliver results and ability to work independently.

Very strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills, with the ability to interact with individuals and groups across all organizational levels.

You can deliver success independently on deadline but as a team leader, you help colleagues and others across the bank achieve success collaboratively.

Undergraduate degree or PR/marketing/corporate communications certification, designations, or equivalent preferred.
