Opportunity Summary

The Corporate Communications Specialist is a key member of NAES Corporation and works alongside multiple teams across the organization to manage internal and external communications. These communications include but are not limited to company and department newsletters, social media (primarily LinkedIn), executive interviews, press releases, HR and company benefits communication strategies and supporting the company and the executive team with a robust content calendar.

Primary Duties 

Corporate Communications Strategy

Develop and execute effective Corporate Communications Strategy for NAES Corporation and its subsidiaries Establish processes and tools to efficiently gather, document, and analyze effectiveness of engagement strategies Support key teams with improving communications of internal/external conferences through long-term planning and short-term activities

Press Releases

Write and edit clear and impactful press releases, blog posts, pitches, PR plans, award submissions, and related materials Work with senior executives, business teams, and external agencies to socialize, achieve alignment, and implement communications programs

Newsletters

Work with the Marketing team to develop and distribute external newsletters in Marketo and other tools to drive greater engagement and readability across multiple platforms (mobile, desktop, etc.) Develop and manage the internal newsletter, EnergyLine, to drive cultural change within the company and its affiliates

Social Media

Develop and execute a rolling 6 to 12-month content calendar for LinkedIn, company website, and internal SharePoint home site

Media Interviews

Coordinate and manage relevant media telephone/in-person interviews for senior executives throughout the year Build interview prep package including key messages for interviews, industry data points, company statistics, and background of reporter

HR Communication Support

Partner with the HR Team to develop and execute creative campaigns that build employee awareness and engagement for employee programs and initiatives Support Recruiting Team in developing a strategy to communicate company values and to best utilize LinkedIn to source great candidates

Executive Team Communications Support

Support senior executives in developing and executing a rolling 6 – 12-month content calendar for personal LinkedIn posts and conference presentations that will position them as industry thought leaders Create and polish PowerPoint presentations for senior executives

Strategic Planning Team Support

Serve as the key communications partner to support the Strategic Planning team when developing internal communications and tactics

Working Relationships

The Corporate Communications Specialist will report to the Director, HR Corporate & Renewables 

Compensation

Initial starting compensation will range from $78,000 to $95,000

Education and Experience:

2 - 5 years of corporate communications experience in a small to medium-sized company desired. Previous experience should include a comfort level working directly with senior executives Bachelor’s degree in, Communications, English, or Journalism desired Demonstrated superior writing, editing and proofreading skills, including the ability to tailor writing for voice, audience and communication channel

Specific Skills and Knowledge

Strong entrepreneurial spirit with the ability to quickly pivot from project to project Ability to coach leaders in developing compelling messaging and delivering effective communications Proven track record of developing and executing communications strategies and plans for an organization Possess a deep understanding of how to communicate information clearly, concisely, and compellingly, including a strong ability to prioritize the audience's needs when creating content Ability to conceive, distill & synthesize complex ideas & concepts into distinctive messaging platforms Excellent listener and communicator Must be able to maintain and protect confidential and proprietary information Strong diplomacy abilities to understand and deal sensitively with people and organizational relationships as well as effectively present information and respond to questions Proficiency with a variety of computer software applications. Having a basic to intermediate understanding of the following software will be beneficial: Smartsheet, WordPress, Cision, PR Newswire, MS Office, Power BI, LinkedIn Admin, Rebrandly, SharePoint, Marketo, and some HTML skills. Strong advanced PowerPoint skills are necessary Experience in power generation, renewable energy or similar industry a plus

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions

This role requires sitting/standing at a desk, using a computer workstation, the ability to handle long periods of screen time and typing. Must be available for business hours Monday through Friday. Additional time may be required during periods of high workload and deadlines. Limited travel (up to 10%).

Fit for Duty

All employees will participate in the Fitness for Duty Program. This program includes a post-offer drug screening. There are extensive smoking restrictions in and around the building.
