Volt is immediately hiring a Corporate Controls MES Engineer. This position can be based out of Dallas, TX, Casa Grande, AZ or Wooster, OH. Relocation assistance is available! This is a nicotine free facility.

As a Corporate Controls MES Engineer, you will be part of the Corporate Controls Engineering Department with a focus on delivering business intelligence services, BI software development, and Power BI reports utilizing our client’s Control Systems, Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES), and Microsoft Power BI servers/platforms. You will work on Controls and Automation projects to support installation of new Control System MES functionality and upgrade of existing Control System MES functionality at all facilities.

The Corporate Controls MES Engineer will report directly to the Corporate Controls Engineering Manager or an Engineering Team Leader.

\r\n\r\n

\r\n\r\n

Within this role, your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to providing research services, application development, documentation, training, troubleshooting, and maintenance for the following:

\r\n\r\n

\r\n\r\n\r\n\tAVEVA/Wonderware’s Archestra Control System including graphics, troubleshooting, objects, the necessary scripts, and MES applications as needed to provide the needed MES functionality and information for operations.\r\n\tModify and/or create some Microsoft Visual Studio C# applications.\r\n\tAVEVA’s Operations, Performance and Quality MES modules.\r\n\tAVEVA Work Tasks Business Process Management (BPM) software.\r\n\tLaboratory Information Management System (LIMS) that is based on AVEVA MES modules especially AVEVA’s Work Tasks Business Process Management (BPM) software.\r\n\tAVEVA’s BI Gateway to consolidate and aggregate data from different sources, making it manageable and accessible including data warehouse functionality.\r\n\tRockwell PLCs as needed to provide the needed MES data and functionality.\r\n\tMicrosoft Power BI Report Server (on-premises report Server) and Microsoft Power BI Power Platform (Cloud Based Services, off-premises reporting).\r\n\tPower BI data modeling, reports, dashboards, and infrastructure to meet the business needs and provide insights into key metrics.\r\n\tMigration of SSRS and Tableau reports to Power BI.\r\n\tData feeds to external partners using Microsoft Sequel (SQL) Server Integration Services (2019+).\r\n\tMicrosoft Server, Microsoft SQL Server (2019+) and Microsoft Reporting Services.\r\n\tGathering and understanding of business requirements for data visualization and analysis.\r\n\tCollaboration with engineers and analysts to acquire, clean, and transform data for reporting purposes.\r\n\tCreation of complex DAX calculations and measures to support data analysis.\r\n\tData security and compliance with best practices.\r\n\r\n\r\n

The ideal candidate will have:

\r\n\r\n\r\n\tBachelor’s degree in an engineering discipline from an accredited college/university.\r\n\t7+ years working within a Controls and Automation Engineering role in the Food & Beverage, Consumer Goods, or similar industry.\r\n\tLadder Logic Programming skill within Allen Bradley PLCs (ControlLogix).\r\n\tAdvanced HMI Development is required, preferably within Wonderware (AVEVA) ArchestrA System Platform.\r\n\tUnderstanding of Object-Oriented Programming Principles.\r\n\tExperience with Microsoft Visual Studio C#.\r\n\tExperience with Ethernet/IP Communication within a Plant Control System.\r\n\tExpertise with Microsoft Servers, SQL Server and SQL database systems.\r\n\tExpertise with SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS), SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS), and Excel.\r\n\tExcellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills.\r\n\tAbility to write, update and troubleshoot existing complex SQL queries.\r\n\tAbility to work independently and as a part of a team.\r\n\tAdaptability to changing business requirements.\r\n\tExcellent Formal and Informal Communication Skills, Collaboration Skills, Professional Attitude, and Professional Appearance.\r\n\tStrong Computer Skills (MS Office).\r\n\tExperience with AVEVA MES, or a similar MES platform.\r\n\tExperience with .NET programming environment.\r\n\tExperience with Microsoft Power BI Report Server (on-premises report Server) and Microsoft Power BI Power. Platform (Cloud Based Services, off-premises reporting).\r\n\tProficiency in Power BI development, including data modeling, reports and dashboards.\r\n\tProficiency in Tableau.\r\n\tStrong understanding of data modeling and data visualization concepts.\r\n\tKnowledge of Data Analysis Expressions (DAX) for creating calculations.\r\n\tFamiliarity with data warehouse concepts.\r\n\tKnowledge of ETL processes and data modeling.\r\n\tFamiliarity with other data visualization tools.\r\n\tPower BI certifications highly preferred.\r\n\tAbility to travel, up to 25%.\r\n\r\n\r\n

Salary Range: $130,000 - $150,000 per year

\r\n\r\n

\r\n\r\n

\r\n\r\n
