Compensation

Compensation includes a base salary of $156,200.00 - $260,400.00. The base salary may vary within the anticipated base pay range based on factors such as the ultimate location of the position and the selected candidate’s knowledge, skills, and abilities. Position may be eligible for additional compensation that may include an incentive program.

Job Description

Cox Enterprises is currently looking for a Corporate Counsel, Mobility Solutions to join our team in Atlanta, Georgia.

 

The Role:

The Corporate Counsel, Mobility Solutions will join a dynamic legal team, serving Cox Automotive Mobility Solution’s commercial business operations.  Clients include Cox Automotive Fleet Services, FleetNet America, Inc., and Cox Automotive EV Battery Services. This role reports to the Assistant General Counsel, Mobility Solutions, and will act as a strategic legal partner in support of these client groups.

Responsibilities:

Provide legal counsel and strategic advice to Mobility Solutions on a broad range of day-to-day operational legal topics, including commercial transactions and contract negotiations, operational efficiencies, and general business matters.

Review, advise on, and negotiate a variety of commercial contracts that include both SaaS based products, data products, and contracts for physical services, and provide legal guidance on responses to sales RFP’s, RFI’s, RFQ’s, etc. related to the fleet industry and the EV battery industry.

Serve as a strategic partner to drive results and identify legal and process improvements to create value, increase efficiencies, reduce cost, and mitigate risk.

Coordinate with subject matter legal experts and other in-house attorneys to ensure efficient delivery of legal services. 

Responsible for identifying and helping to address difficult issues, developing and evaluating alternatives, providing advice and implementing solutions in the context of complex and significant sales transactions, business matters, and new ventures.

Assist and guide the development, implementation and deployment of forms, procedures, policies, and training designed to create operational efficiencies in contract review while protecting the interests of Cox.

Develop strong relationships with internal contacts, including, but not limited to, other in-house attorneys, Security, Risk Management, Finance, Marketing, Tax, and other appropriate departments to ensure high service level and anticipate special needs.

Responsible for effectively managing outside counsel when needed.

The ideal candidate will have:

Ability to shift between supporting physical services businesses and software businesses.

Excellent communications skills and the ability to update leadership on legal matters by summarizing and communicating key issues.

Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to act independently.

Excellent interpersonal skills with a demonstrated ability to build strong working relationships with the business and their boundary partners, understand their strategic direction, and support them accordingly. 

Experience in the automotive industry, including the areas of fleet services, fleet operations, EV batteries, logistics, transportation, and other new growth areas within the automotive industry. 

Qualifications:

Juris doctor (JD) from an accredited law school and active license to practice law in at least one state. 

6+ years of legal experience.

Proven experience drafting and negotiating a wide variety of commercial agreements in a fast-paced environment.

Ability to manage outside counsel efficiently and effectively.

Ability to partner with subject matter experts and other in-house attorneys to provide seamless experience to internal clients in addressing and resolving legal issues.

Business-minded attorney with strong initiative, excellent client counseling, collaboration, and problem-solving skills. A business partner, who likes working side-by-side with business teams and can effectively manage opposing views.

A focus on client needs with a commitment to timing, quality, and client service.

A strong work ethic and the ability to prioritize and follow through on numerous projects simultaneously.

Excellent customer service, time management, project management and follow-up skills.
