Corporate Counsel
**ABOUT THIS POSITION** The Corporate Counsel role is to provide practical and innovative legal advice on a broad range of commercial and compliance matters to internal business clients. This role will be responsible for drafting, reviewing, and negotiating a wide variety of corporate agreements. As a member of the legal team, this person will also have the opportunity to be involved in legal projects and longer-term department strategies. **WHAT YOU'LL DO** + Review, markup/draft (from forms and from scratch), negotiate and close commercial contracts, including master services agreements, statements of work, licenses, RFP responses and supporting documents + Provide rapid, practical, business-oriented legal/commercial contract advice directly to internal business clients + Support internal business clients in negotiating price, deliverables, services scope, warranty and other commercial terms + Apply innovative problem-solving skills and practical business judgment to maximize revenues, minimize risk and foster long-term client relationships + Collaborate with and facilitate cross-team decision-making across various internal teams on a broad range of legal, business and strategic issues as they arise in a fast-paced, rapidly-changing environment + Manage assigned projects to completion **WHAT YOU'LL NEED** + Juris Doctor (JD) Degree + Minimum of 5 years of previous legal experience in a private practice or in-house setting, preferably with a focus on commercial law + Experience negotiating and drafting contracts + Ability to juggle multiple projects and to prioritize appropriately + Judgment that allows for providing practical business advice when the answer is not clear + Comfort working in a team-focused environment + Familiarity with Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Word **Bonus Points** + Self-motivated, ability to work with little or no oversight while possessing a solution seeking attitude + Accepts responsibility for actions and understands the concept of ownership + Excellent oral and written communication skills with great attention to detail **Skills Overview** + Good legal/business judgment + Excellent oral and writing skills + Agility **ABOUT WAYSTAR** Through a smart platform and better experience, Waystar helps providers simplify healthcare payments and yield powerful results throughout the complete revenue cycle.
