Northrop Grumman is seeking a Corporate Counsel to join our team.
Roles and Responsibilities:
The Corporate Counsel will provide legal advice, counsel and service to internal business clients concerning legal rights, obligations, and privileges of corporationsCoordinate with various legal specialists inside the company to support litigation and internal investigations, intellectual property, export, employment, and other matters impacting the business. Draw up contracts involving leases, licenses, purchases, sales, real estate, employment, insurance, mergers, acquisitions and related mattersKeep current on legislative issues, statutes, decisions, and ordinances of quasi-judicial bodiesExamine legal data to determine advisability of defending or prosecuting lawsuitAct as agent of corporation in various transactionsAdvise company regarding concerns for risk assessmentDevelop, review, or implement company-wide and/or functionally specific training programsOversee corporate governance matters and its various committeesWork with outside counsel to direct activities.BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
J.D. from an accredited U.S. law school.Member of the State Bar in the applicable location, capable of being licensed through testing or comity, or, in lieu of licensure, capable of registering as an in-house counsel in accordance with the rules of the applicable State Bar.Strong academic credentials, and the highest level of integrity and ethics. 6 or more years of government contracts experience at one or more top law firms, government agencies and/or in-house legal departments.PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Experience with contracting and subcontracting in support of U.S. Government programs and/or with complex commercial transactionsExpertise with FAR, DFARS, and other federal agencies rules and practices.Excellence in analyzing legal concepts and ability to communicate effectively to a variety of audiences, including all levels within the organization, from executive leadership to first-line supervisors, customer representatives and attorneys, and all levels of Government agency personnel.Ability to provide accurate, timely and pragmatic advice.Ability to promote and contribute to a collaborative team environment that encourages and supports inclusion to drive innovation and reach the best solutions to complex problems.Strong organizational skills and a demonstrated ability to balance multiple competing priorities.Ability to direct the resolution of highly complex or unusual business problems applying advanced analytical thought and judgment.Proven success leading teams and driving for results in a matrixed organization.An active U.S. security clearance at the Secret level or higher, or the ability to obtain such.Salary Range: $221,600.00 - $318,600.00The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.The application period for the job is estimated to be 20 days from the job posting date.
